“Listened to customer feedback”
Reviewed 24 November 2013 via mobile

Last time I stayed here my room was hot and noisy. When they asked for feedback I told them. At my next booking without prompting they upgraded me and the customer service was excellent. With parking next door, good rooms, a decent breakfast and excellent staff I'd recommend the hotel so long as you get aircon in your room.

Stayed here on 23 November for our first anniversary having been so impressed by our mini moon stay last November.

Again, the service was brilliant, staff couldn't do enough for us and our champagne and breakfast was delivered to the room spot on time.

Room was luxurious, comfortable and the shower amazing! We took the option of a late check out and so glad we did.

The hotel is right on the waterfront so it is a little noisy at night but not enough to bother us nor put us off returning. We found it a massive plus point being so close to lots of bars and restaurants as we had a great choice for dinner!

We will be back next time we stay in the city. I've stayed in a lot of hotels this year for business and pleasure and this is deffo one of the best

We stayed on the night of 22 November. Perfectly comfortable hotel, with a good room & great breakfast. A couple of issues though, the sink in the bathroom was cracked, there was only 1 hand towel & 1 bath towel for 2 guests, and no full length mirror to my wife's disgust. Service was good, staff lovely & helpful, but attention to the detail would make it better.

Nice central location, free parking, good breakfast included, and staff were friendly and professional. Clean and comfortable so overall excellent - the only downside was the room was small and the bathroom very tiny. And the corridors were a bit depressing - painted a nasty shade of grey. But it was great value!

Dear LizC,

Thank you for your review,

We appreciate your comments on the corridor colour scheme, "depressing" wasn’t quite what we set out for but we will certainly take them on board for future consideration!!

Overall I am glad you enjoyed your time with us and we hope to welcome you back again when your next in Bristol.

The rooms are very comfortable - as are the beds. Staff friendly. Breakfast excellent. Set right on the harbour so central to everything with excellent bars etc just across the river. The bar was bustling and a really nice place to end the day.

Early in September my daughter booked three quiet double rooms next door to each other for a two night stay in November. Unfortunately it turned out that they were not next door, so having checked in first, we then had to move so that my daughter and her two children could have the two rooms that were adjacent.

We moved to room 650, but by 12.30 the next morning had given up trying to sleep through the noise of 4 enormous air conditioning units which thundered outside the window. A member of staff responded to our phone call and was very apologetic about the units, which were apparently from the NCP car park adjoining the building and would continue all night. We were then offered one of the few vacant rooms - 633, with apologies for the fact that this was near to a nightclub from which loud music would be heard until about 2.30 a.m. We accepted this as the lesser of the two 'evils' and moved, managing to sleep sometime after the music stopped.

My daughter and her two children were in rooms 644 and 646 respectively, and happily the children went off to sleep early. Sadly, this was not the case for my daughter in 644. That room is near to a different nightclub, and she rang reception in desperation about 1.30 a.m. only to learn that this music would also go on until 2.30 a.m. and the hotel did not have two vacant rooms side by side for her and the children to have instead.

The hotel staff were at all times helpful, courteous and apologetic. They accepted our decision not to stay for our second night, and they offered a discount on the cost of the one night's stay, which we accepted.

In fairness this is a city centre hotel, as the staff pointed out, but having booked quiet rooms two months in advance it was very disappointing to have our weekend marred by a sleepless night. I feel strongly that the hotel should either make major changes to the glazing in their 'noisy' rooms, or warn visitors when they book about the noise problems that surround the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for full details of air conditioning and nightclub noise that might apply to the room you're...

Dear Chris W,

Thank you for taking the time out to leave us a comprehensive review.

I am sorry the hotel did not live up to your expectations and clearly noise was a key factor in this.

From our end, we have all our waterfront rooms triple glazed and all have air conditioning units so windows don’t need to be opened, at this juncture there is little else we can do on that front however we are continually working on soundproofing.

Thank you once again for your feedback,

Sincerely
