Reviewed 17 March 2014

We stayed here for a Saturday night in a deluxe room. The location of the hotel is great, with free parking and doors available direct from the car park to the hotel once you have checked in. We were on the 4th floor, with lovely views of the waterfront. The room was a good size, as was the bathroom, and all fixtures and accessories were superb. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and beautifully finished. We did open the windows at night for a while and there was noise from the bars on the waterfront, but once the window was closed we heard nothing. The staff were exceptional, and we had a lovely breakfast with an excellent selection of freshly prepared food in a restaurant with a good view of the harbour. Several years ago after various disappointing larger hotels we opted to try smaller B&Bs and hotels, so staying at The Bristol was a bit of a departure for us. However, it was everything we could have hoped for and more, and we would definitely stay here again without hesitation should be revisit the area.

Dear Alice-Pie

Thank you for your “fabulous” review,

It is refreshing to see we have given you confidence in larger hotels in the city once again.

I am glad our triple glazing in our Deluxe rooms did it’s job and there were no noise issues during your visit.

We look forward to seeing you again when you are back in Bristol.

Sincerely,

Mark Payne

We have stayed here quite a few times over the past 3 years and always found the staff to be courteous and the check in fine.
Had a superior double room on the 3rd floor which was clean/well appointed but definitely was on the small size - probably described as 'compact'. Room overlooked the street which can get busy but noise is kept to a minimum provided you keep the windows closed.
I would suggest you try and go for a room at the rear of the hotel that overlooks the harbourside - much better view.

Breakfast in the river grille is good - plenty of variety to suit all tastes, from fruit to full English. The 3 different types of sausages were a nice touch. Staff were well organised and attentive.
Hotel is well located by the harbourside area with its numerous attractions/pubs etc and its a short walk from the centre of the city/shopping areas.

Room Tip: Go for 500-600's at the back of the hotel

Our third visit to the Bristol, situated close enough to City a Centre ( 15 min walk) but far enough away from noise. The Hotel overlooks the Harbourside on one side. Great customer service, very friendly and attentive staff. There is a car park next to the Hotel where guests can park for free. The breakfast buffet has an excellent choice of foods and drink I love the pianist playing at breakfast on Sunday mornings a lovely touch. The rooms are lovely very clean with everything you require and free wifi! Would not hesitate to recommend.

Room Tip: Pay a little extra and get the Deluxe Queen very spacious and very special

Be aware that the rooms are not spacious like they are advertised to be. Tiny double bed, our feet stuck out the end and we are only average size people. Bathroom also tiny, with a shower only. I'm aware you pay more for the location but I didn't think it was particularly good value for money at £115 per night room only.

Dear Jackie H,

Thank you for leaving us a review.

We have three different room types (Suite, Deluxe and Superior rooms) and they do vary in size depending on which is booked. I am sorry the room size did not live up to your expectation on this occasion.

I trust the rest of your stay with us was satisfactory,

Sincerely,

we stayed here on the weekend of 14th of march with a group of friends. the hotel is in a great location in city center.its very clean and tidy.what was very refreshing was the customer service from all the staff at the hotel they were all very helpful.and deserve allot of credit.keep it up theirs allot of hotels in the UK fail badly in these departments.so how nice to find one that deserves credit we would not hesitate to recommend this hotel or to stay here again.

Room Tip: top floor rooms maybe a bit quieter at night.

stayed here on Tue 11th March for 1 night room 510.
hotel itself is immaculately clean and most of the staff are pleasant and polite. not sure if I got the skinny mans room or not but the toilet in the ensuite room were that tight between 2 walls I could barely sit down on it............talk about uncomfortable!!!
it were that bad that I decided to go to reception and use the main toilets!

breakfast were excellent and bed were comfy. However due to the toilet situation next time I stay in Bristol unfortunately it won't be at the Bristol hotel.

for £100 book a premier inn and get yourself meal and drinks with rhw change!!

We stayed at this hotel for the weekend to celebrate my birthday. We were extremely impressed from the moment we arrived, reception were friendly the hotel room, which was on the 6th floor facing out to the dock, was excellent. We were warned that there would be some noise from the bars opposite the hotel in the evening, but this wasn't enough to keep us awake. The breakfast was also very impressive covering all tastes, we would definitely come back to Bristol and especially stay at The Bristol Hotel.

Room Tip: We recommend to ask for a view of the docks, we were staying in a deluxe room, but remember this the...
