Finding a hotel in Bristol which included breakfast in the room rate was a challenge; which is why for a recent stopover we chose the Grand. The hotel is in a quiet side street and all Victorian elegance from the outside, really rather smart; inside plenty of updating has taken place, but there's still the odd nod here and there to its Victorian origins in its ornate cornices. Our bedroom was of decent proportions and had all the usual bits and bobs - good free WiFi, nice flat screen telly - everything else as it should be. Within 5 minutes of arriving at the room, reception rang to check everything was OK, a nice touch. After a great night's sleep, breakfast was of the hot buffet variety or Continental option - the hot option plentiful and well cooked. The hotel benefits from a Leisure Suite in a building next door and this was a lovely bonus. From check-in to check-out this is a slick operation and excellent choice for the business and leisure guest. Will definitely return.
