We stayed as a 3 night break before we flew from Bristol, visually a lovely looking hotel with plenty of character next to the cathedral grounds.
Smooth check in.
Family room offering double bed and separate camp bed, comfortable bed and very clean room.
In room coffee and tea along with water with lemon on tap in the reception area!
Plenty of take away coffee cups in the room and breakfast area for those wanting a take away coffee, a nice touch in my opinion.
This hotel is ideally situated for walking In to the city and also Clifton area of the city also you can see the aquarium and science museum from the hotel

Very helpful staff throughout

All in all a great all rounder for families, couples and corporate stays

Will be back again

Perfect location for shopping Dinning out. Good value and fab breakfast I would definitely recommend . My only gripe is the bed sunk in the middle. Other wise perfect. The staff were spot on . We had a beautiful view of the Cathedral which is quieter I recommend you ask for this when booking

We stay here a couple times a year as our midway stop between London and Plymouth. (We live in LA, so there's only so much driving we're willing to do after an 11 hour flight.)

Always greeted pleasantly, usually offered a glass of wine (if we check in during happy hour,) and we've never been unhappy with a room. We've always had a room with a great view. I don't know if that's luck or my Marriott status.

Can't speak to the restaurants or other amenities. We usually freshen up and head out for a meal. I think my Marriott status entitles me to a free brekkie, but because we're in transit, we get up and out early and try to find an interesting spot on the way out of town.

TIP:
Parking is directly underneath the hotel which makes it very easy. Just drive down into it. They ask for your license plate number, so if you're in a rental car like we are, take a quick photo of it BEFORE you carry all your stuff up to reception. We learned that the hard way. Staff was very pleasant and patient...it was just a hassle after a long trip.

This was our second time at the Marriott Royal Bristol and we had the same consistently excellent experience. What we love most about this hotel:
1) location. It is right next to the Bristol Cathedral on one side and the waterfront on the other side, with plenty of restaurants and even a market on Saturday;
2) a beautiful classical Victorian building;
3) the professionalism and friendliness of the staff, starting with the receptionists to the housekeepers and everyone else;
4) tea at the bar;
5) clean and modern rooms.

What more could you ask for?

I stayed at the Bristol Marriott Royal for a business trip in January. The hotel is very well set up with an underground car park with lift access to the main hotel. The décor is lovely and old fashioned. The hotel staff were friendly and rooms pleasant and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant which was extremely nice for an evening meal and the breakfast was also nice and there was a good choice. The bar was a great place to meet up. I wouldn't hesitate to return given the opportunity.

Room Tip: I stayed in a room on the top floor which was very quiet and provided excellent views of the cathedr...

The last stay of a week long trip around the UK and I saved the best until last. Very friendly and helpful staff, great cocktails, very nice and comfortable room, fantastic location I plan to return for a stay which is pleasure and not business. Thank you to all at the hotel

Room Tip: The hotel is old so you might get some sound from the pipes but don't worry one you go to bed it...

Cant fault the hotel for ease of parking (although had to pay extra), our room was clean and decor was very nice. View from room not very good, but we only wanted an over night stay so that wasnt really an issue. It is in easy walking distance of the theatres, restaurants and attractions at the harbourside. Had to sleep with the air con on, as couldnt open the window and it got quite warm for us. Breakfast was excellent, buffet style. The only suprising downside was no free wifi, which I found hard to understand. I think it could at least be set that you need a code to use, especially if you are staying.
