I recently stayed at this hotel with a group of girlfriends for a 50th Party! Its a great hotel with loads of character. There was a student ball and a party on the 2 nights we stayed, however the reception staff informed us of this as soon as we booked in and asked if our rooms which looked inward onto the ball room would still be ok as there would be noise until midnight- as we were intending to go out ourselves this was not a problem for us.
The rooms were clean and v comfortable. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice of ceral, cold and cooked.
the hotel is so close to the local restaurants and bars and within walking distance of the city centre!

would certainly recomend this hotel

It was great to see you enjoyed your stay with us and other functions at the hotel did not impact on you. Lets hope you can return in the near future to enjoy the city of Bristol.

I admit this rating might be a bit harsh but the incident on Saturday night with a foul mouthed guest and the poor response by hotel staff ruined the weekend.

The hotel is located in Central Bristol about a mile from Bristol Temple Meads train station and about 1/2 a mile from the coach station. There is a covered car park beneath the hotel.

The staff were great at assisting with the arrangements prior to our visit and on checking in. The flowers I had ordered for my wife were in the room on our arrival and were fantastic

We stayed in a family room which was very nice for our one night's stay.

However, when we returned to the hotel later in the evening, a guest was foul and abusive to other guests but was done in front of my children. I was surprised at the lack of security and response by some of the staff and the hotel needs to handle this situation better in future. I do not expect this kind of behaviour or attitude at this type of hotel.

We also sampled the bar and was served with what can only be described as the worst pint of Guinness ever!

Good service presumed the following day at breakfast and on checking out.

The hotel has a very small gym with nice equipment including cross trainers and treadmills plus a swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, which we were able to use after settling the bill.

We were very sorry to learn of the poor experience you had at our hotel with challenges from other guests only to be compounded by the way in which the issue was handled, however very pleased to see the for the majority of your stay you found our facilities good. We hope this incident will not deter you from returning in the future.

I stayed here for a conference and cannot find a single fault.
All the staff were friendly and helpful, the reception staff, the doormen, the housekeepers and the wait staff were prompt and attentive and unfailingly friendly, even when there were 3 major events going at the same time.
The room was spacious, comfy and quiet. We had a room very close to the lifts but didn't even hear other people coming and going. There was a very loud function going on on the Friday evening and I was a little concerned, but even on the mezzanine floor we couldn't hear a sound from below. (or anywhere else!) The bathroom was clean and well equipped. The aircon was lovely and quiet. I don't think I have ever slept as well in a hotel.
And the food, nothing to say beyond it was fantastic. The breakfasts, the snacks, the buffet lunches and dinner, both the formal meal and the restaurant were superb. I am several pounds heavier now than I was a week ago!
Thank you.

Room Tip: Since none of our large conference had any problems I think they must all be good!

Book a last minute room here as we were going to have a one night stay for an 80's concert were staying the Sunday night in a premiere inn but were full up when we decided to stay for two nights. Choices were then limited for hotels in Bristol as many were full. I rang to book the Marriott and managed to get a room inclusive of breakfast for £140.00. A little expensive but why not. Room had two double beds and was plenty big enough. We used the pool and steam room which was very pleasant. A little bug bear is that we had to pay to park the car but other than that a very nice break.

This is a really nice hotel, a little sprawling because it covers a couple of buildings. The rooms are really comfy and up to date, clean and air conditioned. The hotel has a great ambiance and the breakfast arrangements are good with a chef cooking eggs etc. to order. Two observations one was that there were lots of trays left in corridors that seemed to have been from the night before and the other is that the car parking seems very unwelcoming with signs that seem the threaten you if you don't pay an extortionate rate. You don't have to if you are a hotel guest, but ensure you tell reception as soon as you arrive.

Just a quick review to say how great the staff were. On a conference nearby the hotel was great. Very well looked after and full of staff with friendly faces. The conference i attended was about customer service and the staff at hotel should have presented.
