Dear Guest.

Thank you for your recent 5* review you have given the hotel. I was very pleased to read you were given the additional benefits we offer our guests who are registered with the HHonors loyalty programme.

It was pleasing to read you had ‘excellent bar food’ and you enjoyed your buffet breakfast in our Kiln Restaurant. I agree with you that our hotel is conveniently positioned in Bristol, just a short walk from Temple Meads Train Station and that the City Centre (including Cabot Circus Shopping Centre and Bristol Harbourside) is only a short walk away.

Please do come and stay with us again.

Travelzoo deal for two nights can't be beaten. Great value for money hotel recently had a makeover and hit the wright spot. Staff very friendly and location perfect for getting about Bristol? If you can get the travel zoo offer £99 for two nights snap it up.

Stayed here for 4 nights as part of a Christmas coach party .It seemed this hotel had not experienced what customers can reasonably expect for Christmas.festivities with only a few decorations in the restaurant area although there was a tree in the foyer.

We were on full board. The breakfasts were good quality but the lunches and dinners and especially the Christmas day lunch was well below normally expected standards of quality and presentation.

Most meals were self service ,which until we objected, involved climbing with plates up four stairs to the part of the restaurant allocated for the tour guests. The Christmas day lunch plates(cold) had little or no gravy and the vegetables looked and tasted unappetising. As to the prawn and crayfish salad starter this has been put in the fridge overnight so the salad had wilted,The fish ingredients had no dressing or seasoning. We were not offered any ChrIstmas day drink and had to ask for it .

Although thus hotel is supposedly four star it does not live up to this standard with respect to catering.. It suits business men who only want breakfast .We would not expect many would wish to have lunch or dinner there.

The restaurant staff though friendly had little experience and the barman frequently seemed to wander away from the bar. .
On the plus side the rooms are very well appointed and the other facilities are modern and well maintained .Excellent tv channels in the rooms and lounge areas.
Good location near the centre of the city..

We would not recommend thIs hotel for a Xmas stay.

Room Tip: Choose a restaurant in town

Dear Guest

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments regarding your stay with us over Christmas.

We have received lots of positive feedback regarding other guests stay with us over the festive period so it was very disappointing and I am sorry that you did not feel the same way.

I was however very pleased to read that you felt the ‘rooms were very well appointed’ and the facilities were ‘modern and well maintained’.

Regards

We booked two rooms and stayed for one night only on Christmas Day evening, as we were invited to Christmas Day lunch at relatives who live locally. We got a great rate as it was so quiet and also got both rooms upgraded on arrival, to King. We could not have been made more welcome either at check-in or at breakfast the next morning, which was ample and of a high standard with much variety; fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, bakery selection, cooked buffet etc etc etc. Lovely size rooms and pristine bed linens and super-clean everywhere. I stay at many hotels for business and would happily stay here time and time again, especially as this was my first stay in a Doubletree. My only word of caution is do not be put off by the rather dour front exterior entrance, and I do hope that the hotel will be able to re-model this in time. The final word should come from my seven-year old son who was so chuffed with the room that he asked if we could stay for two nights instead of one! On Christmas Day!! Well done to all concerned.

Hotel was excellent quality and value for money everything works and is new. I was greeted by friendly staff and the hotel bar and facilities were excellent. Breakfast was the ususal Hilton quality and was good to have as a recovery from a night of indulgence. Overall a excellent location for city centre and also very good experience parking seemed plentiful.

Previous stays in the City have taken us to other DoubleTree and Hiltons on the outskirts. Had business plus shopping so picked the Redcliffe location which is handy for Temple Meads rail station. City centre shopping area is 10 minute walk and there is a convenience store 2 minutes away. For those who like a flutter the Genting Casino is across the road!
Ample car parking at the hotel if you drive in but there is a nightly charge.
Fast check in, friendly staff and a comfortable room on the 5th floor....room is a good size as is the bed and a very good nights sleep. View is nothing to write home about but the room is light and airy. Bathroom is an excellent size with a large separate shower cubicle.
Dined in the bar - excellent snacks and even the toasted sandwiches arrived with a good serving of salad and chips. Breakfast taken in the kiln restaurant and standard Hilton buffet fare which was ok.
No problems with Wi-Fi in the room and good connection without having to re-register.... Overall a very good stay and will return next visit to Bristol.

Room Tip: High floor gives you a view over the rooftops
