My Daughter's wedding was recently held at the hotel. Fantastic location, Avon Gorge providing a magnificent backdrop. Everything went to plan thanks to the excellent support from the hotel staff. We found all staff to be efficient, friendly, nothing was too much trouble, when approached with any queries they were dealt with straightaway and in a positive manner. Thank you for helping to make it a memorable occasion. Can definitely recommend.

We stayed for two nights in room 322 ( gorge, bridge view ). The room and bathroom had recently been refurbished, but why no hooks and or shelves in the bathroom ? Very odd !

Excellent service from friendly efficient staff at reception and at breakfast.

Parking is a bit of an issue .

Room Tip: Room 322 has partial view of the bridge and nice view across gorge . Please note lack of hooks or we...

We stayed two nights in this hotel. We had a double room with an ensuite bathroom and the more fantastic view! The decor was very dated, although renovations were underway while we were there. However the room was spacious, clean and the facilities comfortable.
We didn't use the restaurant in the hotel and there are plenty of places to eat within easy walking distance. The breakfast in the hotel was tasty, with plenty of choice and friendly staff.
Would definitely visit again.

This is a great hotel in the Clifton area of Bristol with spectacular views. We chose the hotel because of the Gromit Unleashed statue there. However after a lovely time there we will be returning to stay. OK the room we had was not one of those which others have mentioned which had been refurbished, therefore the decor was dated. But don't let this put you off as the room was clean and comfortable and massive. The views from the terrace bar overlooking the gorge and the suspension bridge are amazing. We will most definitely stay again when we are in Bristol. Also taxi's from the city centre are relatively cheap and saves the walk back up the hills.

Stayed at the Avon Gorge for two nights at the end of July. Really impressed, nice location, really welcoming on arrival, Tom checked us in at reception, extremely helpful with our requests, charming personality and seemed to be on duty 24 / 7!

Food was excellent at breakfast, the young manager was also very friendly and on hand for anything we needed.

The location is perfect for an evening meal, great views on the terrace.

We will be back!

Stayed here on monday 19th august I booked the room 2 weeks ago and the person i spoke to was helpful i enquired about parking and he told me i would be given a permit to park at the back of the hotel . booked a double refurbished room for £89 and was sent an email of the confirmation. On arrival the receptionist was very friendly she booked us in but there was a mistake in the price, they had £99 I Showed my email confirmation to her and she sorted the problem out with her manager and refunded the £10.
Our room was at the front of the hotel on floor 2,there was a lift or stairs,we used the lift and it was a bit difficult to find the room as you had to go along a corridor then down some steps+up some steps the down another corridor, but it is a very old building and that adds to it's charm,we were ok once we found our way.
Our room was one of the refurbished ones and it was very nicely done, the bathroom was lovely it had a bath with power shower and a hand shower, the shower gel and shampoo was really good. The bed was so comfortable with good quality pillows.
There was a tv,iron+board, kettle+coffee and tea ect provided,we wanted some more milk later that evening and asked at reception and were given some more.
We were attending a friends birthday barbeque on the terrcace and it was well done with plenty of food and the view looking at the clifton suspension bridge at night lit up was lovely.
The breakfast was really good there was a lot of choice, cereals, fresh fruit and fresh fruit salad, yogurts, salami's,rolls, croissant, danish pastrie's,muffins, toast and all sorts of combination's of a cooked breakfast, the fresh coffee was lovely and you could have an extra pot aswell.
All of the staff we came across were so friendly and helpful,we cannot fault the hotel and would definately return as there are so many places to visit in and around bristol,we enjoyed our walk around clifton village there are some lovely shops, cafes, restuarants there and the walk across the suspension bridge was amazing.

Room Tip: ask for a refurbished room

We stayed here for one night during the balloon fiesta and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel patio was a great place to watch the 'mass ascent' of balloons. We had a refurbished room with lovely views across the gorge to the suspension bridge. The staff were uniformly excellent. The hotel's location is ideal for exploring Clifton Village. We would definitely stay again.
