As someone who regularly stays in Bristol for business, I have stayed at 3 or 4 other hotels in the city centre, with the Marriott the best by a clear margin. In the past few months I have now stayed at the Marriott for 4-5 weeks and have enjoyed my stays.

The double rooms are spacious, with satellite TV, quick wifi, a desk, and a bath/shower. The beds are the best I've slept in for a while, very comfortable. Despite being in a city centre, noise has never been an issue. There's the odd siren, but definitely better insulated from noise than other hotels in the city.

Breakfast is reasonable, usual buffet fare, with a chef on hand to carry out specific requests. Staff throughout are courteous and have always helped me out with no delay. All in all, exactly what you want from a hotel.

The hotel is well situated in town and parking is easy (the NCP is attached to the hotel and available at £14.50 per 24 hours). It’s a good base for a stay in Bristol – close to the shops etc.

The staff were all friendly and helpful when we checked in. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and would cater for most people’s tastes. The bar area was nice – they have a happy hour twice in an evening which offers 2-4-1 on cocktails.

The hotel decoration is a little dated but it is a clean hotel – just in need of some modernisation in my opinion. Beds were comfortable and clean. We booked a room with a balcony but that left a little to the imagination – you couldn’t really call it a balcony and it really didn’t feel that safe to me!

I would probably prefer to base myself slightly out of town and have a nicer hotel with better amenities if I were to visit Bristol again but all in all it’s a great hotel to use for a bed for the night.

Took so long to get through Bristol teatime on a Friday the council need to review their traffic flow. Found Hotel and NCP car park next to it. Friendly check in and room fine but set up for 2 not 3 as per the reservation - happens so often!! Breakfast on Day 1 was appalling as we were seated in the Consevatory with very poor mass catering. Hard croissants and pastries and about 100 rashers of bacon stacked in a silver dome going cold and chewy just poor management of the whole situation. Day 2 we went into the restaurant and it was SO much better. Lovely lady Chef cooking eggs etc and so the fresh cooking made it so much better and the quality of the rest was just so much better. Had breakfast continued as on Day 1 we would strike Marriotts off our list of preffered Hotels but fortunately it got better, Parking pricey even with discounts but it is City centre I suppose but these add ons do bump up Holiday costs. All in all fine but don't have a consevatory breakfast even if it is very busy!!

Excellent hotel. Staff very friendly and professional. Food is excellent, can highly recommend the steak. Hotel is situated in the city centre, handy for the shops, cinema, bus tours and train station. If I go back to Bristol I will definitely stay there again.

When you walk into this hotel the grand entrance makes you feel like you are in a 5 star hotel . But as you enter further you can see clearly the signs if wear , cracks in the tiles , mould on the walls ect.
We stayed on the 4th floor which was ok. You could slightly hear the traffic but it wasn't to much of an issue . The most annoying thing about the room was the air conditioning . It kept going on and off at random times in the night keeping us awake (we eventually turned it off ) aswell as it being very noisy . The cleanliness wasn't that good either with hairs everywhere and mould around the edge o the carpet and in the bathroom .
However considering all of this the customer service was great with the staff willing to help you for anything. The breakfast was lovely with a wide variety with basically everything you could ever want for breakfast .
Sweets at reception for guests which I enjoyed thoroughly .
Overall an ok experience .

Thank you for your review following your stay here at the Bristol Marriott Hotel City Centre.

With regards to your comments about the feel of the hotel, we do try our utmost to keep our building and the decor well maintained and up to date. I apologise that you did not feel that this was the case during your stay and I can assure that your feedback has been shared with our senior management team.

Please be advised that we will be getting our air conditioning units replaced in all of our bedrooms, with work starting shortly. This will result in quieter units that produce either hot or cold air at a much faster rate than the ones that we currently have in our bedrooms.

Thank you for your very kind comments about our staff. At Marriott, we strive to provide all our guests with high levels of service, and we are so pleased to hear that this was your experience.

We very much hope that we will welcome you back to our hotel again soon, and if I can be of any assistance with future arrangements, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Check in was swift and friendly, room was on the 8th floor, aircon was really good although a little noisy. Fabulous pillows and all round good facilities. Location is great right by shopping centre and plenty of restaurants. Breakfast was good nice selection only niggle was waiting staff were slow and it took ages to get my hot milk and no chance of a second cup. I will definitely stay here again, got a fav deal under £100 via a hotel search and booking site so value for money. Parking is expensive though

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. Having stayed in several hotels in Bristol to visit our daughter I can honestly say that this would be our first choice when we visit again. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the room was huge for a standard double and very reasonably priced. The view, from the room, over the city was spectacular. The breakfast was of good quality and presented well. Can't wait to stay again.

Room Tip: Next time we would book a room with the balconies as the windows cannot be opened in the standard ro...
