“Great location facilities good for families”
Reviewed 1 September 2014

Visited this hotel for three nights. Kids loved the swimming pool..staff friendly..rooms clean...bathroom clean...comfy beds...breakfast was great and staff serving breakfast and cooking fresh omelettes were superb.......location was ideal to visit bristol on foot with a 4 and 7 year old...overall a pleasant experience which I would visit again for a relaxing short break....only downside in this day and age is that you pay for wifi in your room which should be free...for such a small extra this would have really topped our stay at this hotel......

The hotel is always well worth a stay - this is the third time my husband and myself have stayed and each time it is always relaxed, clean, comfortable with a reasonable sized swimming pool and well equipped gym. It was a really good rate and made the stay worth while as we usually do a bit of shopping in the Cabot Circus and go to the theatre either at Bath or Bristol.

We booked this hotel due to the proximity of Cabot's Shopping Centre and the fact that we had a very competitively priced dinner package. Parking our car in the NCP car park next to the Hotel was simple and on settling the final bill the NCP ticket is validated by the hotel receptionist paying half the required NCP amount, it also gives you continued parking on the day of departure up until midnight. All the staff were helpful and very courteous and could not be faulted. We did request prior to our arrival a room with a city view and were allocated room 330 on the third floor which was indeed a city view however, if we had a room on a higher floor it would have been so much better in relation to the view. The room was clean and functional with a table and two chairs in addition to the built in wardrobe. We ate on the two nights in the Terrace Grill restaurant where our package allowed our son to eat free. Although the menu remained the same there was sufficient choice and the standard of meal was excellent in both taste and presentation. Breakfast was buffet style with an egg station inclusive of omelette's made to order. This was a very tasty starter to the day and at no time did you feel rushed at either meal service to clear away. There are leisure facilities on site which looked excellent but we chose not to use them. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our short break with easy access to both the shopping centre and the city tour bus and would recommend this hotel as we plan to return for some Christmas shopping.

Check in was very efficient by friendly staff. The NCP car park is next door and you can pay and have your ticket stamped for the machine at reception although it is £15 for 24 hours!

The room was very nice and clean with all the added extras you need including iron/ironing board, proper coat hangers, even take out cups for tea/coffee.

I order room service which was delivered quickly, still hot and very tasty and not too badly priced either. I also had breakfast in my room, again this was delivered on time, hot, tasty and plenty of it.

The beds and bedding are of excellent quality.

I was slightly let down by the cost of wifi at £15 for 24 hours however, this wouldn't put me off staying here again.

All in all a very good stay.

Excellent customer service, the staff went out of their way to welcome my children and made their stay memorable. Great value for money. Kids eat for free. Lovely breakfast.
The swimming pool is great. Very central location with parking next door to the hotel. We will definitely return.

Room Tip: We stayed in 530 which was a quiet room.

I stayed at this hotel on Tuesday night and now understand why it is on special offer! The building looks like a 60s tower block ( no wonder the photos taken are night shots). The location is noisy, the rooms are very old, and everything was extra. The worst experience of a Marriott I have ever experienced! I would not recommend it to anyone.

Although stopping only overnight, the service was excellent. The staff were very courteous and willing to help. The room was well presented and all in good order, with REAL milk to go with the complimentary tea and coffee. The crowning glory was the excellent breakfast administered by friendly staff. Well worth the money.
