The food was really good, very tasty and well presented. The restaurant only has a small menu but it features the classics you'd expect and all are produced to a very high standard. The waiters were also very cheerful and friendly, we ate a 'normal' table and the other highlight of the meal was watching other diners who had sat at the 'traditional' low tables and perched on stools trying get back up at the end of their meal, luckily the waiters were on hand to assist!

Bab Mansour is situated in the St Nicholas food market and serves good food, with good service, but it is the overall experience that impresses. The place is quite small and is split into two halves; you either sit inside the mock bedouin tent (if you can get in) or sit on a table outside on the passageway. Try to get inside even if you have to wait a bit as it will be worth the wait. It is like stepping into another country, time and space.

The food is very good. I had Morroccan chicken and my wife had meatballs. We were both on diets at the time and had to eat food low in fat and this suited the bill perfectly. Large platefuls of cous-cous, spiced vegetables and then our stewed meats. Delicious!

We both drank mint tea which was really refreshing and the whole bill came to about £16 for both of us. The service was also very attentive and fast. There should be more places that charge this sort of money. Too many places are way overpriced.

I totally agree with the review below.
This was our second visit and each time it was excellent. The service is fast and friendly and the food is top notch. Last time I had the fish tagine and my partner had the chicken tagine. This time we had the Moroccan lamb and the fafalal. They were outstanding (the reason we went back)
The place is tiny, with about 8 tables so there are lots of people hovering waiting to grab a table. It is so cheap, £15 for 2 meals and drinks

This is a Moroccan cafe that is only open during the day and is in the excellent Glass Arcade in Bristol. This area is a must for visitors to Bristol. This cafe is very out of the ordinary and will make you feel you are in the souks of Marrakech. The food is excellent authentic Moroccan cuisine with lots of options for vegetarians also. If you fancy a great lamb tagine or falafel and hummus this is the place. They also serve authentic Moroccan mint tea and Arabic coffee. The seating is communal so be prepared to share the bedouin-style sofas and brass tables. The cafe also do takeaway, which appeared popular. All in all this was excellent value and an experience also.

Ditch the burger chains and try some great food in this area of Bristol.
