Stayed here in a king double room with my heavily pregnant wife for three nights. Room was clean, tidy and contained verything you need for a short break although was a little on the small side but for the price you pay well worth it. Breakfast is a standout, fresh, local produce cooked to order by a highly visible chef. Plenty of everything. Home made muffins each morning are great with the excellent coffee! Brooks is well positioned for the shopping quarter and the good restuarants near the floating harbour. Only down side is the noise, partly it is beyond control of the hotel as its a busy place in Bristol. However the other part is the internal water pipes making banging noises whenever antoher room flushes or showers. The only drawback of an otherwise great little hotel.

Room Tip: Book a room at the rear of the hotel overlooking the courtyard. The front ropoms are on a main stree...

Location : Amazing, in the middle of everything. Really close to the water. Lovely walks, shops, bars and resturants on your door step. Great for group break, nights out, shopping trip, family break, business trips - they tick the box on everything

Parking : No on site parking but a car park literally two minutes away from the guest House. Price not bad - £12 for 24 hours - you pay for it when you check out of your hotel (it can go on your tab) the staff will ask you about it.

Check In : Really Quick - but not rushed, friendly staff. Shown room and provided with all needed info.

Room : Fantastic Quality - spacious (enough for the three of us, 3 single beds and bags of space), lots of tea / coffee / hot chocolate sachets in room, with kettle and cups :) great touch for long day shopping. En Suite - Nicely decorated room, power shower, lighted mirror, fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries.

Guest House : It was quiet (but full), no noise disturbance, trust bar on ground floor by receiption - which we used with no problems. Large Couches next to folding doors which open up fully on to a nice seating area outside in a lovely court yard, with a water feature. It is beautifully decorated and isnt a run of the mill place just to lay your head, its full of charecter and very homely. Free WIFI and use of laptop.

Breakfast - Food cooked for you by chef in open kitchen. They will cook what ever you request - specials on board such as eggs benedict / panacakes etc... We had a full breakfast and it was really good quality and cooked well. Staff were friendly but left you alone once you had what you needed.

Overall : Would recommend 100% - this place is a great gem in Bristol - I will defo be staying again and recommending to everyone.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights and we were pleased we chose this place. It is a bit hard to find but once you are settled in you will be able to explore the city on foot easily. Lots of bars and restaurants within minutes, and right next door is a small market.
The only downside with our room was you could hear some noise in the early mornings.

We stayed in the Guesthouse for one night while we explored Bristol. We found it difficult to find, but absolutely loved the location. It was so tucked away and hidden that we could never have expected to find such a hidden gem in such a great location.

Entering into the courtyard and the Guesthouse itself was amazing. Such a lovely little place, and we never expected it at all! We were met by a very friendly man, who seemed to want nothing more than to help us, he showed us to the stairs and directed us to our room. We stayed on the first floor, and though the room was smaller than we thought it would be (especially as we had paid for a "king"), we loved it nonetheless. It was beautifully decorated, with everything we needed including a small fan and a hairdryer. The bathroom was great too, with a powerful shower and everything was very clean. Really comfy bed and couldn't hear a peep from any other rooms! For service and room quality alone we would have definitely recommended Brooks Guesthouse. However, the problems began when we got into bed. There are not curtains on the windows, but heavy wooden shutters. This is a great feature and adds beautiful character to the room, but made the bedroom stiflingly hot. We were reluctant to open the windows in case of outside noise, so switched the fan on. But the fan made no difference! It did not circulate cold air around the room, but made a horrible noise, meaning we were just as unable to sleep with the fan on as we were with it off. In the end we turned it off and tried to sleep, but the heat in the room made it virtually impossible. A very poor night's sleep.

Breakfast in the morning was delicious, and service again was quick and friendly. It would've been nice to have labels on the food laid out on the counter though, as I found myself asking more than once what something was.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, but would not stay there again. While we enjoyed the area, staff and decor, the room was just too hot and we did not feel our overall experience was good value for money.

Thank you for your review so glad you liked the locaton staff breakfast and room Sorry your room was too hot , we "air "out the rooms daily and there are radiators which are controlled indivdually in each room sorry if yours was left on . The colonial shutters are great to keep noise and light out sorry if you found the room too warm its hard to get the right temperature for everyone as some guests get cold and others get hot which is why we have indivdually controlled heating.
hope to see you again either in Brooks Bath,Edinburgh or Bristol we really appreicate your feedback and custom

WOW! What a stunning guest house. We really enjoyed our one night stay. Situated in a great location with gorgeous decor and lovely staff. Felt like we were abroad when entering the building. Very private and really impressed with how smoothly everything went. Only down side was parking. Cost us £20 to park for 24 hours on Nelson's street. From reading the reviews just now we had no idea the guest house had set up a deal with the parking people for reduced rates so we missed out there. Room was small BUT to be honest this wouldn't effect your stay in any way. Location was hard to find with sat nav for it's tucked away up an alley and is a 5 /10 minute walk to and from parking.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 14 on the 2nd floor and it was VERY QUIET i didn't hear a peep from guestes in...

Enjoyed our one night stay in a clean, friendly guesthouse in a great location in the city centre. the only downside was the adjacent bar that finally finished at 2.30 but all in all I would recommend the hotel to everyone

Room Tip: Rooms to the courtyard are quieter
