“Lovely quiet place to stay”
Reviewed 31 December 2013

What a surprise. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Even though it was a warm night, the quiet inner court was really pleasant. The steak house around the road served a terrific meal, the best on our journey. Breakfast was a buffet with a cooked menu as well. The staff were very friendly and all stopped to enquire as to our well-being and to offer assistance. We would be very happy to return some time in the future.

I booked 3 rooms for a surprise weekend away for my sisters 30th. When we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by the owners and shown to our rooms. The hotel has put a card and some flowers in my sisters room as requested by email and delivered a large bottle of wine free of charge to us also. The rooms and clean, spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious with beautiful service. We were granted an extra hour before check out for free, the staff could not do enough. I would recommend this hotel to all. Very central location.

This was the best guesthouse I have ever had the pleasure to stay in. The hospitality, the rooms with their soft, clean bedding, the food, all were first class. The location couldn't have been better for shopping, site seeing, theatre, restaurants and nightlife but was so quiet a mouse could have slept there. We were daughter 21, mother 51 and grandmother 72 and none of us could fault the Brooks Guesthouse.

The rooms were fab, spacious and nicely decorated. Staff are friendly, polite and accommodating. This is a lovely hotel, 5 mins walk from the harbourside and hippodrome. Thanks to Thomas and all the staff (chef as well for delicious eggs Florentine!) for making our weekend in Bristol very pleasant indeed

Stayed Here for our anniversary, perfectly located, couldnt of been better, Thomas on front desk was a joy to deal with and so very helpful, rooms were lovely and bright with fab shutters to close at night, we had no problem at all with noise and we stayed on a Friday night! Everything from start to finish was great, lovely honesty ba for a late night whiskey, breakfast filled us up for the day, although I made sure I had room for lunch which we bought from the St Nicholas Market right opposite. All in all Fantastic day and night in Bristol. Will deffo be back.. Thanks x

Reluctant to give such a glowing review as I probably won't get booked in again but here goes. Great hotel in the centre of Bristol. Welcoming staff, spotlessly clean rooms and fantastic breakfast. Rooms are small but more than adequate. Location is great but due to the central location maybe not for the light sleepers. Will definitely be back.

A hidden gem in the heart of Old Bristol! The welcome from Agnes the receptionist couldn't have been warmer and more friendly. We were in a twin room on the 3rd floor, it was beautifully clean and well presented, with a large spotless bathroom. The beds were comfy and the room was lovely and quiet.

Everywhere is nicely decorated - even the lift has wallpaper which makes it look like a library! It was very useful to have a key and be able to let ourselves in when we got back late at night. The night porter was also very polite and friendly.

The breakfast, mmmmm, delicious! We were served as soon as we sat down, to order the tea and toast. I had the Eggs Florentine from the specials menu, and the eggs were beautifully poached. My friend had the Full English and it looked very inviting.

We left our cases with Agnes while we went out shopping at St Nicolas Market, which is directly opposite and very convenient. The guesthouse is also convenient for the O2 Stadium, the Hippodrome and Bristol Temple Meads Station. I'd have no hesitation in recommending the Brooks Guesthouse to anyone!
