A group of about 40 of us were visiting Bristol for the weekend and this was the venue for our formal dinner. The ship is closed to the public so we had the place to ourselves. We had a drinks reception on the main deck where the cabins were and were given a really most interesting talk about the ship and the life on-board from a period dressed gentlemen.

We then had time to look around the rest of the ship before being called in for our dinner.

Dinner was really very good. Very good service and very good food.

To have a private dinner on SS Great Britain is a great opportunity that obviously is not available generally, however, I have also been around the ship during the day and it is an obvious must when in Bristol.

Thank Mike C

Very very interesting place to visit, a truly fascinating historic ship with lots to see and lots of information on display to learn about it. Also a very nice and relaxing area in the Bristol Harbour.

We went to see the new Being Brunel attraction. We had done the SS Great Britain before but it is well worth a visit. The Being Brunel exhibit is every bit as good as the ship itself. A host of interesting items and stories about the great man keeps your attention throughout and the final experience, “inside his head” is very inventive and unusual-just like Brunel. Not sure children would be able to engage with the attraction as there are not a whole lot of exhibits they could play with. That said it is a superb presentation and the whole family will enjoy the cross section of experiences available. Nice little cafe too in the Being Brunel unit with seating outside to watch the floating harbour traffic. All in all a very interesting attraction, well done to all involved.

What a find, we both loved the ship and all it’s history. Their is a museum explaining everything you need to know and exploring the ships decks was amazing, one of the decks was kitted out as if it had just docked, all the passengers quarters and kitchen etc were on show and really interesting. It has a lift down to the bottom of the ship and above so disabled visitors can have a look around too. Would highly recommend a visit if you are in Bristol.

Make time to visit this wonderful attraction. Very interesting and staff were very helpful. We thought the layout of the site and the free Brunel Museum was well worth the price.
