Spent two days in the Hotel - Very clean, great central setting, close to shops / bars etc, however, quality of sleep poor due to a distinct lack of sound proofing -- Stayed on the 3rd floor and was kept awake by people talking in the street below (and I mean talking, not shouting).
In addition, mini-bar did not work (albeit replaced quickly) and TV in the bathroom very poor.
Positives : well decorated and breakfast was amazing

Staff were helpful on reception; we paid for an upgrade to a premium room. The room overlooked the river and 'premium' had added extras such as complimentary soft drinks and films.
Breakfast was excellent.
N.B. The car parking spaces in the neighbouring NCP were rather tight and there is reduced headroom for cars. Parking is £20.00 a night but the hotel can refund £5.00 of that price by stamping your ticket for you on departure.
The hotel is in a central location for shops and restaurants. The Christmas market was also on (in Broadmead).

We have just spent a few days in Bristol celebrating our 49th Wedding Anniversay and the Brigstow was an excellent find. It is just in the right place if you want to discover the historical part of Bristol. Our room was overlooking the Floating Harbour and as there is no through traffic really it was very quiet. The room was very tastefully decorated, bed comfy and the bathroom was excellent, bath and separate shower. We had dinner one night which was excellent as was the breakfast, great choice. We also enjoyed a good club sandwich just before we left. As we went by train we can't comment on car facilities. A lovely few days taking in the history of the city.

Frst time in the Mecure as we normally stay near Cabot Circus. Arrived 10pm and the whole area was very lively, with bars and floating restaurants. Very pretty river side location, plenty of of people sitting outside even in November. Unfortunatley we are up with the lark and no on else is. Couldn't face paying £33 for our breakfast in the hotel (especially having been surprised by £15 for parking) but couldn't find anyone open for breakfast in the immediate location. Finally found the Weatherspoons in the harbour area about 10 minutes away.
The hotel is converted BT offices and we thought not a sound proofed as some airtight new builds, so there was some noise from the corridoors and outside

Stayed here overnight on business... First impressions are good, staff are very helpful, bedroom looks good when you walk in... confused by the screen in the bathroom as there were no instructions on how to use it which was a pity...

Location was brilliant but the bed (which is the most important part along with bathroom) was awful!!! Broken springs, lumpy, uncomfortable - not happy! If I had paid for it myself I would've complained!!!!!

On the plus side breakfast was brilliant, really good variety!

Had a room facing river Avon and was one of new "privilege" style - bed juts out at 45 degrees so doesn't make you feel walking into normal boring rectangular room. Although price was expensive

Great separate power shower cubicle aswell.

Only issues was only 2 check-in points so avoid at busy times as took over 40 mins to checkin - staff didn't really seem to know how to process things quickly when a queue had built and can be noisey at night with clubbers walking back by the river

Fantastic location. Nice hotel. Good value for money. Walking distance to nice restaurants and bars. Hotel breakfast is fab. The hotel bar and restaurant is also nice. I would recommend this hotel to others. Bristol is a nice choice for a weekend getaway.
