I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel whether for business or pleasure. Staff are very welcoming, rooms clean and comfortable and food is excellent .Great base for exploring central Bristol and shopping at nearby Cabot circus

If you're looking for a hotel in Bristol with a lot more to offer, look no further than this one. Overlook ing the Welsh Back waterfront, this establishment oozes style and comfort. The ground floor bar and restaurant is relaxed and very modern. However, once you get to your room, you'll realise why this hotel is very popular. The rooms are very spacious and modern. No chinz here. If your room faces the water, you have a terrific view of the comings and goings of the street below. One feature of the rooms or should I say, bathroom, is the plasma screen . Relax and enjoy your bath while watching TV. Marvellous

Room Tip: Try to get a higher floor for a better view and pay a little more for waterfront view

This hotel has a great location being near to the business area and the shops, which are a short walk through a park. It's right by the river so ask for a high room if you want to avoid the noise from revellers at the many restaurant boats.
The hotel has a NCP attached but the entry is the otherwise of the block and no short cut through. Having said that is only about 400m to walk so no real issues.
The reception was efficient on arrival and on leaving which was pleasing to see. The rooms are excellent with all the required elements, tv, coffee, iron and ironing board, trouser press and safe (which I didn't use).
The bathroom had a separate shower cubicle which I like, no bath showers here and was generally well appointed.
The bed was excellent with a full compliment of pillows.
The whole room felt more like a boutique and was very modern. The air con was ok but might struggle in the summer as it wasn't too powerful.
Breakfast was the normal buffet affair although other things could be ordered and it was of a good standard.
Overall I would recommend this hotel and would definitely use it again.

Room Tip: Go high to avoid any noise from restaurants and bars

Nice hotel in a nice position. Friendly reception and breakfast staff and comfortable rooms. Nothing really to fault it except... At the bar you have to watch what you are being charged. The same round of drinks cost different figures each time and when I asked the bar lady about it she really could not care. she asked me ( only when prompted!) how much I had been overcharged and when I told her, she just opened the till and gave me some coins. She said as I had paid cash she was not able to trace the transactions. Simply NOT good enough.
Shame
had to wait ages for fresh eggs at breakfast as well.

I stayed here for a couple of nights for business after enjoying my holiday in London. The location is good. It is close to the city centre and the major shopping malls. In fact, it is built along the riverside and is adjacent to the Bristol bridge and a "floating restaurant": the Glass Boat. However, it was a bit noisy at night for its proximity to a pub during weekend. The heater was not function too well and the room got cold from mid-night to early morning. In short, they have excellent room, breakfast, service and facilities for business trip. I guess the Mercure Holland hotel is even better with additional spa service....recommended.
