We've stayed in this Travelodge a few times with our young family. It's in a great location very close to the Harbourside with the boats, Mshed, SS Great Britain, pubs and restaurants. There is a Tesco Express 3 mins walk away which is v handy and a reasonably priced car park underneath. The rooms have recently been freshened up and there are new Dreamer beds. The staff seemed extra attentive this time- would highly recommend but as with many city centre Travelodges it can be v popular with stag/ hen groups at weekends and a bit noisy.

Good location a few minutes walk from the quay and town centre. Very clean and smelled fresh. Small but adequate rooms for a weekend. Check-in was easy and made very pleasant by a bright and bubbly receptionist who gave us lots of info. Later I needed some help about the buses and went to speak to another receptionist who went out of her way to try and find the answer to a rather difficult question. We didn't really use any other facilities but if that is the standard expected of the staff there then I would imagine they were good. Nice comfy bed. Body wash provided. Good fluffy towels. Tea and coffee in the room.

£95 for a twin room I think is fairly pricey, and when it is simply a box with two beds in it - it makes you feel a little ripped off. Good location, but just feels like a roof over your head rather than a hotel. Had to pay to park the car, had to pay for breakfast (which was less than average), so you're looking at £120 in total for a basic twin room on a Saturday night. It was the cheapest in Bristol though - when did everything in life get so expensive?

This hotel has recently been refurbished to a high, clean and modern standard and we was pleasantly surprised. Excellent location for Bristol sightseeing - the harbour was in easy walking distance (some restaurants less than 5 minutes away) and there was a Tesco Express about 2 minutes up the road. Plenty of parking no matter what time we arrived back.

The room was compact but had everything we needed - the bed was extremely comfortable and the pillows were excellent. Plenty of hanging room & places to store suitcase and bags.

The bathroom was clean, modern and everything we needed. Clean towels were provided each day as requested.

Reception staff were friendly and provided an excellent service.

Would recommend this hotel to everyone, the only thing I would say is if you find it hard to sleep through road noise, then maybe choose one that isnt located within the city. As we wanted a city location, we were fine with the road noise.

Only stay here if you are short of cash and need basics. No toiletries in room. Basic bed and the feeling that the room is made from one piece of formed plastic. Staff are friendly. Good location for city Centre.

Generally I find Travelodges great if you just need a cheap place to sleep, so booked one night here after a show at the Hippodrome - easy walking distance to the theatres, harbour attractions etc.. but I would not book this particular Travelodge again.

Parking was a major consideration - when we arrived the car park was full, my disabled husband urgently needed access to the room so we pulled up by the doors to ask where we should park. The manager kindly moved his car so we could have a space, but when we left the next day the car park was again full, so this is obviously an issue. We were also charged £10 early book-in fee, whilst I realise this must be a Travelodge policy, given it was less than 2 hours before check-in, the room was ready and my hubby was in desperate need of privacy, this just added to our stress.

The room was tiny, if one of us was sitting in the chair or standing at the end of the bed, there was not room to pass. The shower was also teeny, less than 2ft wide with nowhere to put shower gels etc.. and the plastic shower curtain either (inside the shower-tray) stuck to skin or (outside the tray) was ineffectual and the floor flooded.

Whilst one cannot judge a hotel on the other guests, it has to be said that some of the clientele were a bit Jeremy Kyle - at the entrance we passed a sunken-eyed hoody-wearing couple lighting up an enormous joint..! Not sure I'd want to arrive here alone late at night.

Having said that, the bed was comfortable and we slept well; and the staff were generally very pleasant, helpful and polite - with especial kudos to the chambermaid who topped up our tea bags after we had downed our allocation.

I booked a double room for one night at the Travelodge in Anchor road, Bristol for an Italian Festival. I did hear some dubious reports about this hotel due to it's location etc but I was very pleasantly surprised that non were justified. I was greeted by a very helpful person on reception and check in was fast and hassle free. Our room was a double on the third floor and the decor was excellent, everything was clean and well presented and the bed was nice and comfy with nice pillows!

There are two lifts that take guests to the rooms so access is very easy for wheelchair/disabled customers too! The bar/restaurant area was nice and airy and food was good. We came back late at night but access was via key card and very simple, there was also someone on reception all the time, not once did I see the desk unoccupied, staff were very good!

The only slight grumble that I have would be about the parking, the hotel does have an underground car park, however, it is not owned, run or maintained by the hotel but instead by a private company. The tickets were only available from a couple of machines that were very difficult to use to say the least, prices were also high!

All in all though, the hotel itself was very good and room rates are very good indeed, if your looking for a place to spend one night to stop over for a family gathering/event then this hotel is definitely worth a try!
