This well located hotel offers a friendly first class service from the time you enter the front door to the point you leave. The bedroom was spacious with a high quality finish, with much attention given to the finer detail. The breakfast was of a high standard with quality products cooked to perfection. The staff are attentive, with nothing to much trouble. A first class establishment.
Don't miss a visit to Blaise Castle just 200 yards away which offers free admission to a "walk down memory lane".

As people have said before - great location, free parking, bus stop right outside to the city - good value at £4 return unlimited travel. Allocated the annexe, a bit soul-less and also didn't want to get wet going for meals - there was no hassle moving to the main building. Comfy bed, quiet room, fab digital shower but the motion-sensor bathroom light malfunctioned 3 times when I was in the shower.....it's a bit freaky! I wouldn't have liked it as a lone traveller - luckily hubby was there to reactivate. Lovely breakfast but plates never warm and they have the most weird crockery that looks fancy but most impractical - I lost count how many times my butter knife fell on the floor. The staff are very helpful and friendly and overall we were very happy with our room.

Room Tip: Avoid the annexe. Quiet at the rear.

Henbury Lodge is only 5 minutes drive from the M5 and Cribbs Causeway. It has a bus stop right outside giving access to the excellent Bristol bus system (we used it a lot and next year will also use it to get to the railway for the 12 minute journey to Bath). There is some traffic noise in some of the hotel rooms. The best bits, aside from the location, are the superb food and the very friendly, helpful and efficient service. We stayed for five nights and found the two AA Rosette food of outstanding quality but not too rich or heavily salted. In our room there was an uber-bling bath/shower room. The room itself was more conventional with some design flaws – not enough drawer space, no room light switch by the bed, the heated towel rail was too small, and we had to ask for a rubber shower mat (the bath was too slippery to take a shower safely). The housekeeping was (as is often the case in similar hotels) a bit hit or miss. We also felt the restaurant tables (in the very smart dining room) were a bit too small and the tableware stylish to the point of eccentricity. We were on the borderline of a 4* marking, but because the essentials were so fantastic we settled on 5*. Please note that there are only bar snacks on Sunday … but don’t worry they are amazing! We will certainly return next year.

Room Tip: Talk on the phone to the owner Ros and outline your requirements and she will recommend an appropria...

Myself and my partner decided to have a weekend break and get some Christmas shopping done at the same time, the hotels location near both Bristol center and Cribbs Causeway mad this a perfect base. The hotel itself if furnished nice, the staff were very helpful and polite and rooms finished to a high standard for a 3 star hotel. We stayed in room 21, separate from the main hotel in an attic area. Despite the attic location the room was spacious with a comfortable bed, a good TV and seating area.

My only real complaint is the noise, every single movement or door closing echod around the room, the guests in the room opposite seemed to be in and out of their room fairly frequently of the night between 9-10, every time the door closed it sounded like we were in their room. Occasionally we would also hear pipework gurgling away as noted by other guests on here who stayed in the Henbury's exterior rooms. The worst noise was passing by, every sound from the road and even people walking past the hotel along the main road could be heard plain and clear, even when talking at a fairly regular level! I was woken several times by bikes and buses in the night and so was my partner. I'm not the lightest of sleepers and myself live on a main road from a town center yet this sounded far worse then anything I was used to, on a few occasions I double checked that the windows were properly closed! Less of an issue but still an annoyance was the shower; The shower is squeezed into a corner of the attic with a sloping ceiling and I found myself knocking on the ceiling multiple times and getting the wooden beams wet, I'm around average height 5"11 so someone taller would struggle.

It's a real shame as besides that the stay was good and the hotels service and room finish was lovely.

Nice hotel, very friendly staff. Good location, far enough from the city to have fre parking but close enough to make it a reasonable cab journey.
I had room 21 which is in a separate building, only a few yards outside but not good if its raining! The room was up in the attic area & was pretty big. Nicely laid out but the roof structure does intrude. I'm only 5ft 8" & the roof timbers were pretty close. If you were taller then it would be interesting. Because of the roof location you cannot see directly out, just to the sky which is a bit strange. One irritation was the automatic light in the bathroom. Got up in the middle of the night t use the loo & PING on goes the light. This is the second hotel in 3 weeks with this & it isn't good.
Dinner was nice, reasonable money for a chain hotel, breakfast was great, freshly cooked to order none of the kept warm buffet here. I would have liked some fresh fruit salad though which was missing.
Although the road it is on looks pretty minor, the traffic noise did intrude, certainly early in the evening but did seem to quieten later, only to start around 6 in the morning. My home is very quiet so maybe I'm more sensitive to this.
Would I stay again? yes definitely.
