We spent one night in this hotel. As not being local we had to use a navigator to find and it was a bit tricky since they only have a street address and no house number. Found it anyway so no worries. We had reserved a standard room, but at the time of arrival my spouse was using crutches and when they saw them they immediately moved us to a more accessible room (without us even asking) - which turned out to be huge and definitely of upper rating with a view to the garden but they did not charge us any extra.

The room was of old style as was the whole building, yet very comfortable, as were the beds too.

I appreciated a proper size body lotion dispenser in the bathroom instead of those tiny bottles/bags many hotels have. And it smelled and felt lovely as well.

The breakfast was good too. The only thing that was a bit annoying that at the breakfast they ran out of croissants and when I asked whether they would bring more they told me that it'll take 25 minutes - and it was already 5 minutes to the closing time of the breakfast... so we didn't stay to wait.

The staff was very nice and helpful. Parking was just outside the door.

Sunday was a quiet day at the Henbury Lodge Hotel in Bristol which worked very well for us. Pleasant room with excellent bathroom and a truly welcoming receptionist, Kasia who also became our waitress for dinner. Dinner was simple and relaxed in the very pleasant garden. We wanted a place to wind down for one night and that is what we got. We will be breaking our next journey there in August as well!

Room Tip: Check which road your room faces-- the front can be a little noisy.

I would like to reccomend this hotel to any business travelor like myself. I stayed here ahead of business meetings in Bristol. Though I arrived late - after 10 p.m. I was met by someone at Reception who was extremely corteous and helpful and offered help with both my case and parking securely for the night.
My room was extremely spacious, recently refurbished and with all the facilities that make a place to stay home from home.
The food was excellent and I particularly enjoyed the fact that meals are prepared freshly in the hotel.
Reception staff on leaving were professional and polite.
I look forward to staying again.

Room Tip: I would recommend a family room or the cottage bedrooms in the courtyard.

We recently spent 2 nights at the Henbury Lodge Hotel. It is situated about 5 miles from Bristol city centre in a pretty location. A bus runs to the centre of the city from the road outside. The hotel is charming with staff who care. We arrived late and tired and were helped to our room without a fuss. After a good night's sleep we sampled the wonderful breakfast: home made fruit salad, yoghurt, jam, marmalade and lemon curd and freshly squeezed orange juice being the highlights. After breakfast we took our coffees outside to sit in the garden by the pond.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the room was quiet and had opening windows( so nice during warm summer weather). The only thing I would have preferred would be a king sized rather than a double bed.

Room Tip: We had room 7 which was on the first floor and quiet

We stayed for the night of 12 July 2014 and had a very pleasant time. The staff is extremely nice and the restaurant is excellent. It was a bit far from the city centre (Bristol), about 40 minutes by bus. But is closer to the Downs.

Room Tip: Room #14 had noise when someone walked in the hall upstairs

we stayed one night in hotel, two rooms. Staff were very professional and welcoming. Rooms very comfortable. We had not planned to stay for dinner but our plans changed and so we booked a table in the restaurant. We so impressed with the standard of food, excellent. Home made bread with rosemary, gorgeous mushroom soup and some of the nicest pork I have ever tasted. Thoroughly recommend the restaurant, great kitchen!
