Owner description: We The Curious was previously known as At-Bristol Science Centre; an educational charity with an aim to “make science accessible to all”, it opened in 2000, and welcomed over 5 million visitors in the past 17 years. At-Bristol relaunched as We The Curious in September 2017, with a new vision that is committed to creating a culture of curiosity. We The Curious is an idea and a place for everyone. Our venue on Bristol’s harbourside is a bit like an indoor festival, with all sorts of different experiences, where you can interact with exhibits, test stuff out and participate rather than just visit. We’re all about empowering everyone to ask questions and get creative - with boundaries removed between science, art, people and ideas - a culture of curiosity.

I took my 1 & almost 4 year old to @Bristol on a Friday and we spent 4 hours having great fun and could have stayed longer! Not many attractions you can really say that about. There were 2 areas limited to under 8 year old children which featured dinosaur & animal dressing up clothes, fossil hunting, tunnels to explore and loads more. In the main area everything is interactive, giving a real hands-on experience. I'm sure even children and teenagers who think they don't like science would have a good day out. I was really amazed what fun we all had, even my 1 year old. We didn't do the planetarium as for under 5s its only on wkends and school hols.

Facilities: They had lockers costing a refundable £1 which was really handy for putting coats in. Baby change includes a toilet which is great. The cafe wasn't overly expensive (children's 5 items in a box for £4). Come & go all day so if you wanted to go to a nearby restaurant you could.

The only sting in the tail was the parking charges. The 2 nearest carparks are the Millennium underground car park and another multi-storey one and I believe both have the same charges. 4-6 hours was £8.50 ouch!

Great day out. We'll definitely go back.

This is a fantastic day out if you have curious-minded children, and a pretty good place if your just curious yourself. Very busy during holidays and on saturdays, I'd suggest mid-week if you are less keen on school parties.
The exhibits are interesting, and well explained. the hands on approach does bring the science to life.

I brought my 7y here and we spent a wonderful, and informative, 4hrs. The highlights were the planetarium and the animation studio where children (and adults!) can create their own shows using stop motion and then email the clips. It is on the expensive side and best value would be the annual pass so one could pop in and out but as a visitor one doesn't have much choice. Its particularly good for a rainy day and there is also the aquarium next door.
