“A differant view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

Taking one of the yellow ferries from the bottom of the steps by the 'Center' as the large pedestrian Island is called one is taken on a trip to view the harbourside of Bristol from a different prospective, the yellow ferries take a long slower journey than the other ferries, and take you to Temple Meads, S.S. Great Britain, Underfall Yard and it is only a short walk to the Clifton Suspension Bridge, (from the 'Pump House' once the means of opening and closing the Harbour lock gates, but now a public House). the whole area if full of the history of I.K. Brunel. all of the named attractions were built or designed by the Great man. If it is possible get on the ferry with the young lady wearing the red woolly beret style hat, a local character and a good guide for all the landmarks one can see, If you have the time buy a day ticket which allows one to get of and on any of the yellow ferries from 10:00 till around 18:00 it could take so long to see every thing around the harbour, Underfall Yard is free to wander around, but it is a working dockyard where small boats are repaired, but on weekends the engine house is open for you to gaze at the very large steam pumps that used to give power to all of the dock repair yards that there used to be.

“Fab ferries to see Bristol from the river”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 May 2014

Negotiate the Sights either side of the Avon from these swift communicators! Reasonable fares for short or longer trips make sense of the rather sprawling centre, especially on a first visit when orienteering is needed. Staff advise on what to see and which direction to walk in etc. It's not as complete as the Big Bus but very satisfactory on a short visit in a total downpour.

“Nice way to travel around Bristol”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 May 2014

Seeing Bristol from the water is great, even more so if you're traveling to the ss Great Britain. It hardly costs a thing and you get some fresh air. Some boats are rather open to the air, so it can get a bit chilly.
Staff were great and gave us some good ideas on where to go and what to see. If we can we'll take a longer trip some time!

“Very pleasant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 May 2014 via mobile

Used the Bristol ferry to get about and see things. Very useful. Staff very pleasant and helpful with questions. Used the service quite a few times. Well worth a trip even just to see the city from a different prospective.
