“Cosy bar on a winters evening.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2014

I have been to this bar many times, however I would not come here in the summer as much as it is always busy. I love it here on a winters evening sitting inside looking out onto the harbour, with an acoustic (open mic) night on a wednesday evening. The tapas that is served here is really good and I would reccomend eating here.

“Great tapas & location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014

Under the Stars is a great place to visit on a sunny Saturday lunch time (or any sunny day for that matter*). The restaurant is actually a boat that is permanently moored in a brilliant location right in the centre of Bristol opposite the Watershed and close to the fountain that goes down the steps. If you don't have sea-legs, don't worry the boat doesn't rock - well, it didn't when we were there! Two of us shared the tapas and found that 4 dishes with bread was plenty for a light lunch. We had calamari, Moroccan chicken, a duck dish and mushroom with spinach. They also serve pizza but we didn't try that. The Bounders cider was also great. The staff are friendly and welcoming and I will certainly go again & take friends as it's a great place to go.
* there is also inside seating if it's a rainy day.

“Brilliant place.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014

Sat on the top deck in the sun.

Enjoyed Pimms and a range of tapas dishes.

It's the location that makes this place worth a visit, sitting in the harbour in the sunshine is a wonderful way to pass an afternoon. The food is average but the service is fantastic. I would definitely recommend if you need a place to pass some time, eat some food and enjoy the sun!

“Wonderful meal, brilliant staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2014

We had a wonderful meal at Under the Stars on Friday night. We reserved a table for food, though this wasn’t necessary as most people were having a drink on the deck above. Our waitress was the friendliest and loveliest we’ve experienced, giving updates on the food and tips on what to order.

The food itself was delicious too – none of it actual Spanish tapas, just a variety of Mediterranean dishes for sharing. We particularly liked the baba ganoush, the chocolate brownie, and the local ale.

“great in the sun on the top deck - nice pizza”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 June 2014

if its sunny, you want a snack lunch and a beer, have a great view - this is a great place. I don't stop off here ever to eat inside but its not unpleasant. Outside in the sun however, moored near cascade steps in the centre on the opposite bank to the watershed - this is a great place to spend an hour or so outside with friends and watch the world go by. The pizza's are a good standard and provide a perfect share snack with there beer. A good selection including (I think from memory) its Gem (Bath Ales)

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your review and for sharing your experience with our Tripadvisor readers. I am very pleased to hear that you enjoyed our home-made pizza and location in the city centre. I hope that since our refurb and updated appearance inside (we decorated and gave a whole new 'relaxed 1920s' look to the place in March 2014) that you will book a table for our evening service and try us out!

I look forward to seeing you then,

Kindest regards,

Leah
