“Comfortably numb”
Reviewed 15 March 2014 via mobile

No real complaints, just not very impressed. The service was fine, and nobody had anything bad to say about food or wine. It was a bit annoying that I couldn't pay by card. I wouldn't avoid a return, but i would not especially recommend it.

“Very good visit”
Reviewed 15 February 2014

Don't quite understand why this review has to be written under a restaurant name that no longer exists, can you please sort this out because it is not a satisfactory situation for either the owners or your regular reviewers. Anyway, visited last Saturday evening with our two grandchildren, aged 6 & 10, and had a very good meal. The children had a drink, pizza and ice cream from the set price kiddies menu and we both had a pizza from the main menu, any pasta or pizza is available for £4.95 if you order before 1830, and they were very good. We sat in the front area for the first time and I had a good view of the kitchen where I could see the pizza's being prepared and cooked and this guy was working his socks off. I'm not sure what things will be like when the place is very busy as they do get larger parties and there did seem to be a possible imbalance between staffing front of house and the kitchen but on this visit we could have no complaints. Will certainly go back for the early evening deal as it is very good value for the quality of food that we had. The place also has a good ambiance and, on this occasion, the staff were friendly and the service was good.

“What's happened?”
Reviewed 17 December 2013 via mobile

Went a few months back before it changed hands, perfect pizza and perfect chicken and pasta dish. Went a week ago... Oh dear not the same. Terrible pizza and mains. Won't be going back. The food is not the same. Sorry.

“Not very impressed”
Reviewed 15 December 2013

I booked a table for my boyfriends birthday as we had been here before and really liked it. However, the service was very, very slow and the waiter wasn't very apologetic about it at all. We were a group of 10 and only half the starters arrived, when we complained the rest came about 20 minutes later and again the waiter wasn't very apologetic. Some of the food was very nice but other dishes were very bland. We wouldn't go here again.

“Salvatore's Kitchen now renamed Don Camillo”
Reviewed 5 December 2013

Salvatore's Kitchen closed and re-opened as "Don Camillo" under new management in November 2013 - exact same address, many familiar faces serving, but a new name on the sign outside and a new website. My wife and I had an excellent meal here last week but it doesn't make much sense to write that up in detail until TripAdvisor archives or renames this listing.
