Stayed for one night to see the sights & shop, great location only a few minutes walk from great eateries, and St Nicolas market & Cabot centre. Room very spacious, spotlessly clean, the wife has ocd cleaning and even she couldn't't fault it. Bed very comfy & nice powerful shower. Underground carpark only a tenner for 24hrs which is so cheap compared to Oxford where we live. Breakfast was good plenty of selection, staff very helpful & friendly. We will return :)

We booked a deal on 'Late Rooms' for 2 adults and our 16 yr old son, and were delighted with the Novotel. Conveniently placed between Temple Meads & old Bristol, we left the car in the car park & walked to the theatre & harbourside. Reception, bar and restaurant were spacious & welcoming and the staff were courteous & efficient. The beds were large and comfortable, & we had everything we needed. The choice available at Breakfast was the icing on the cake!

Room Tip: rooms at the back will be quieter and you can open the windows :)

Three of us were cycling the Kennet and Avon cycleway and were finishing the ride in Bristol. We got a good deal at the Novotel for bed and breakfast. They also stored our bikes overnight for us.

Location was good for us - close to Temple Meads station - but also only a short distance from the old city.

The room was great. We didn't spend much time in the room but there was a queen sized bed, a sofa, wi-fi and a usefi and working space (if you are there on business). Room was clean and good size. Bathroom had a good shower!

We didn't drink in the bar as the nearest thing they had to real ale was John Smiths - not close enough! We didn't eat in the restaurant, it was easier to walk into the old part of Bristol and have good beer and a meal in a pub.

We did have breakfast. A buffet style - help yourself. Reasonably good choice including fresh fruit and cooked breakfast. I would have liked a little less fat on the fried food but it was tasty and you could have as much as you wanted.

A very comfortable night's sleep - partly down to three pints of Butcombe Bitter!

Great place to stay.

Stayed here last weekend for one night, and the hotel was very good. Nice clean room, staff were friendly, location was great - only about a ten minute walk to the centre of Bristol. We had breakfast too and that was fine - standard buffet style cooked breakfast. Overall good for the price we paid (about £90). Would stay here again if we were in Bristol.

Nice hotel with family friendly feel BUT got stung at the end with an extra £7.50 charge for three little bottles of standard cheap water from the room! There was a tiny sticker saying soft drinks £2.50. Assumed that because there was no water cooler in service the water was complimentary, also- call me stupid but thought water would be called water, not 'soft drink'. Loads of people had done the same, they obviously make a lot of money doing this, it was intentionally misleading and left us thinking we wont stay there again. The receptionist wasn't particularly pleasant either. Quite rude in fact. Also, the room was boiling hot all night and kept us all awake- with the window open it was the seagulls waking us up so all round not a great nights sleep. Shame because it was clean and comfortable otherwise.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments. I apologise for the confusion regarding the water. We have just taken the decision, in response to the weight of feedback from our guests, to remove the stock from our minibars and therefore enable guests to store their own items. The only exception is bottled water and I regret that the new price lists were not in place at the time of your visit. Tim Howes, General Manager

Stayed here in the Spring 2012, I like this hotel which has an air of class about it, parking is not the easiest but this is very close to temple meads train station.

This would be an ideal place to stay if you were taking the Bristol Flyer Shuttle to the Airport as the train station pick up point is only 2 minutes walk away.( the shuttle costs £10 return by the way)

I stayed in a superior double room which was spacious and clean with bath, shower and coffee making facilities. The rooms are very quiet and there is little to no outside noise even though the hotel is located on a busy main road.

The Novatel also has spa facilities and a gym, looked nice but I was only here for one night so didn't really get to test them out, food and drink as usual for a hotel is on the pricey side, maybe try the local restaurants and pubs which are located within a five minute walk.
