We stayed recently with our 2 children (7 and 10) and found the hotel and staff excellent. It was within walking distance of Harbourside. The site of an X box in the reception area was a bonus for the children! Just remember the car park is extra cost.

We stayed on a Saturday night and were originally booked into Room 320 by reception. At midnight it became increasingly evident that Saturday night is party night in Bristol. The traffic was still busy and the double glazing/air con just couldn't dull the sound and I rang reception asking if they could move us to a quieter room as I couldn't sleep. Eduardo the night manager was brilliant. Even though the hotel was nearly full he rang us back within five minutes and had managed to find us a room at the back - 315. He even helped us move our stuff. All the other staff at reception and in the dining room were very pleasant and helpful.

The breakfast was good quality, the parking was easily accessible. I see that one or two others have complained about the cost of parking but I don't think that £10 is an unreasonable price to pay for parking for 24 hours in a busy city centre.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel.

I usually stay here on business so have gotten used to it and have become aware of those things you need know. The gym facilities on the 4th floor are very good and as seldom used by most you get a decent session without interruption. The rooms are good with good TV and reasonable bed (not as good as premier inn) with good tea making facilities. Reception staff are friendly and you can always pickup a free newspaper too. Breakfast is always of a good standard.

We stayed in the Novotel Bristol for 3 nights. The location although easy to find is about a ten minute walk to the town. Parking was easy with the car park situated underneath the hotel. There was limited parking for the hotel and this is on a first come first served basis, although there is a pay and display nearby. The location was quiet but this was out of university term (there is student accommodation nearby). The hotel itself is clean and tidy and similar to all other Novotel we have stayed in. Our room was clean and adequate space for a family of four (provided the sofa bed is not pulled out). We did request more pillows as only one per person is provided they were sent up quickly as was the fan, that was requested. Unfortunately having stayed previously at Novotel our only complaint is that the air conditioning does not seem to work. Reading other reviews (EU) they really need to address the issues with the air conditioning. You may need to consider bringing water with you, as although a fridge is provided with water it rather steep in price.
The staff was friendly, helpful and accomodating at all times. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice especially since children eat free. We did not eat dinner at the hotel, however we had drinks at the bar, but we felt that the prices were expensive.
We would definitely use this hotel again when visiting Bristol and have booked another Novotel in France for the summer.

The location is quite convenient for exploring Bristol on foot. We had two rooms and they were very clean and comfortable. Wifi is free and with very adequate coverage and speed. Reception was not totally welcoming nor efficient, but not really a problem. All in all, we would return to this hotel. Recommended!

I had a meeting with some colleagues at the hotel's lounge type bar area on April 3rd. I picked the hotel because it was close to a near-by business park and for the parking. As our group was pretty large (15 people), the space we had was ample. The staff was most helpful and was attentive to our needs.

Location is fantastic, a short walk into the centre and very safe. Well done

I stayed at the Novotel for one night in March for business. After reading some other travellers reviews I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised.

The car parking is a good semi underground lay out with reasonable spaces. It was a little confusing getting up to reception. The only issue I had with the hotel was with the reception staff who we're not very friendly or helpful, however check in was reletively painless. The room was clean and comfortable with good decor and I liked the bathroom. I ordered room service which arrived quickly (even if they did forget the desert) and was very nice. I slept well and check out was also a painless process. Overall, I have stayed in nicer 4 stars in Bristol closer to the centre but this one was clean and comfortable and good value for money.
