A good price (£44 per room) which includes a free (albeit) limited breakfast (but worth it). Rooms were clean and well presented. Location is good - only a few miles out of the city and taxis are not too expensive - the one we got was a fixed rate so ask the hotel for advice on this front. Would I stay here again? Yes!

Room Tip: 1st floor - the hotel is exceptionally busy and the lifts are tiny so you will probably find the sta...

This hotel is quite far from Bristol city, however, the hotel offers excellent facilities. Staff is very friendly and super market is within 2 minutes walk. If you are prepared to spend 30-40 minutes in travel to city, this hotel is value for money.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express bristol north last week for one night. We had a ground floor room, clean and comfortable, quiet great pillows although the double bed seemed very small and not that comfortable. As we were there just for the one night night it wasnt a problem. Big Sainsburys across the road which was handy. There is a lovely oldy wordly pub behind the hotel, lovely warm atmosphere and great meal would deff recomend this if wanting a romatic meal.
Would stay here again.

I stayed here for one night using my points as I was planning an evening in Bristol and so that would not want to drive home (having had a few beers). It is handy as it is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel to Filton Abbey Wood Station, then a £3, 10 minute train journey into Bristol Temple Mead. The hotel is modern, clean and the staff friendly. I admit that I didn't actually spend much time there (apart from sleeping), but I was allowed to check in early and was offered the opportunity to take toast and coffee when I checked out before the start of breakfast.

Room Tip: If you look on a map, the hotel appears close to a main road. But, actually it is set back and I thi...

This is a really nice hotel, as with the other Holiday Inn Express hotels it is modern, clean and rooms are well sound proofed which definitely contributes towards a good nights sleep. There is a decent bar, some simple bar food and of course the free breakfast which was just right for me.

Road access to this hotel is dreadful, it took me 45 minutes to drive past the hotel and around the island in order to get to the entrance, this short section of road is chronically choked with traffic and no one lets you out, road courtesy in non existent. I could have walked the same distance 10 times over in the time it took to drive around the block. The worst evening during my stay was one evening commute of 6 miles which 2 hour 45 minutes...the traffic is truly, epic...just complete gridlock during peak hours.

On the plus side there is plenty to do nearby, there are two supermarkets, three trendy eating places and a small shopping area.

Cycle access around the area and Bristol in general is outstanding, so best advice would be to put your mountain bike in the boot, leave the car at the hotel and cycle where you need to go. footpaths are also great.

would I stay again? possibly, the only thing that would put me off is the appalling road access.

Room Tip: all the rooms are of a high standard

Dear Guest, It is great to hear you enjoyed your stay with us recently. I am sorry that you were caught up in the traffic. I do remember the particular night when you spent over 2 hours in the car. There was an accident and a broken down vehicle which unfortunately put the area at a standstill during rush hour and beyond. I am glad that you would visit us again and we look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the future. Kind Regards, Erica Stoodley, Deputy General Manager

My friend and I stayed for a saturday night at this hotel on a shopping trip to Bristol and we chose it as wanted to be fairly close to the city centre and also to Cribbs Causeway and the price was excellent and had good reviews. Hotel is well situated and plenty of nice pubs close by to eat in (try the Air Balloon in Gloucester Road - great steaks!!) The room was very good, comfy and very clean with all the usual amenities and with a nice sized bathroom. The room was very hot when we got there but we managed to turn off the air con eventually. We had a good breakfast - plenty of choice and as it's self service you could go back for more. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. The only problem we encountered was that on returning to the hotel at around 9.30pm on the saturday night we couldn't find a parking space so had to park in the pub car park opposite the hotel. Apart from that, had a great stay and would def reccomend it.

I regularly stay in IHG branded hotels and generally choose the express chain for convenience. this particular hotel is around 15 minutes walk from Bristol Parkway station and weather permitting, it is a nice walk.

On arrival at the hotel, it is well presented, situated between a Sainsbury’s and a modern family pub. The check-in process is smooth and you are in your room in no time at all. The only negative I have at this point is my room's location, close to the lift. I was repeatedly awoken by "doors closing" and "third floor", slightly frustrating to say the least!

The major downside I saw with this hotel was the lack of restaurant, meaning I have to dine at the overpriced pub next door. If you have a car, it's not a problem, but if you're on foot, you're trapped, unless you want to venture down the road to McDonalds.

Dear Rob, Thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay with us. I am sorry that you found the location of your room noisy. If you do visit us again, please let me know and I will ensure your room is away from the lift. Also Frankie and Benny's family restaurant has just opened across the road from the hotel and we can now offer our guests 20% off of the main menu after 5pm. A Nando's is also due to open next week. We can now offer our guests much more choice for dining in the evening which is great news. Kind Regards, Erica Stoodley, Deputy General Manager
