“Good for Business Travellers”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2014

Nice Holiday Inn Express, easy walking distance from Bristol Parkway Train Station. Not much round about so probably best suited to business travellers, or those who don't mind driving. Not a great bar area if you want to socialise, however the pub over the way is excellent for food and drink. Rooms as expected very clean, staff are exceptionally friendly and very helpful. Wouldn't really be ideal if you were travelling with a lot of luggage as there isn't much storage space.

I've been staying here since the hotel first opened, staff are excellent, special mention to Angela and Jamie, always helpful and Angela has been here since I first came to the hotel. Rooms comfortable and have been refurbished since I last stayed. I travel the world and this is by far the best hotel I have stayed in.

We took a little while to find the hotel as the instructions were not quite accurate - turn left at the end of the road .. where is the end of the road? it went on for miles!

Once in we parked in a massive car park, were welcome by the receptionist and given a room, so easy. Room was big enough, enough storage space, air conditioning and usual tea/coffee etc. No flannels though. Beds were a little hard but just acceptable. We heard a little noise from the road overnight but not enough to keep us awake.

Breakfast was 'express' so hot food was just sausage, scrambled egg and baked beans, no, they will not fry an egg - I asked! Lots of fruit, cereal, breads etc.
Help yourself to as much tea/coffee/juice as you like.

Within the car park was a pub called The Fox's Den - of course we paid a visit, it was really cosy, beer brilliant, peeps were friendly and lots of customers inside and out - well worth a visit.

For a one nighter it is good but I think next time we go to Bristol we'll use the other Holiday Inn across the road, it's easier to find and has all the same facilities.

Stay didn't start too well when we evidently approached the hotel from the wrong direction and ended up driving past the entrance twice. There is no signpost for the hotel or the pub next door which is very unlike this chain of hotels. Rooms and hotel is standard for the chain. Nice decor, friendly staff and plenty of parking.

Stayed for just the one night, and found the hotel to be fairly comfortable. Nice rooms, although very small. Nice decor, just a little basic but nothing to complain about. Friendly helpful staff at check in which is usual for the holiday inn chain! Only downsides are heavy duvet, which was clearly the winter one and it was 26 degrees... and the size of the rooms. With a summer duvet it would have been a lot easier to sleep. We had to keep the aircon on it's lowest temperature.

I stayed here as I had a meeting at the UWE conference centre the day after. The location for UWE is great - very close.

The room and bathroom were very clean and well appointed. Nice sofa to chill out while watching TV. The only slight issue I had is that I didn't realise they don't do evening food - I haven't marked them down for this as it's simply something they don't do and I didn't realise. Whilst they don't serve food they were great at offering advice and directions to restaurants and takeaways, and of course, there is always the pub next door. There is a bar so you can still enjoy drinks when you've collected your takeaway !

Very good fast wifi throughout the hotel - streamed programmes through iplayer on an IPAD with no problem.

Breakfast in the morning was simple but had most things so was fine.

Stayed for one night on Friday 13th June. I wish it could have been for longer.

We received a warm welcome from friendly staff. The rooms were comfortable, clean and well equipped. Wifi is free and there is plenty of free parking. Breakfast is good and more than adequate.

All in all excellent value for money

Room Tip: All rooms are good.
