Owner description: This is a pleasant neighborhood three screen cinema in an affluent part of the city which has a very loyal audience and is also enthusiastically supported by the many students in the area... a little gem that still shines!

I love this place, and like the other reviewers I'd love to keep it a secret ! They don't charge over the odds for their tickets, they do Orange Wednesdays, and their sweets are reasonably priced - what more can you ask for ! I also love the fact that you can buy a coffee in a normal mug and take it in with you. The place really has character and although it's part of Scotts Cinemas now I hope it manages to keep it's individuality and it's staff. It's my favourite cinema and I'll carry on using it over and above the large fancy, expensive & soul-less ones !

Unfortunately although this is within a nice area the cinema itself is not great small dark and in need of a re vamp but with that said it does offer value for money so when all said and done your watching a film not the decour or lack of and it really is value for money in comparison to your big cinema chains .

I've been going to this cinema all of my life. They have always had extremely reasonable prices, much cheaper than the big chain cinemas.
I would always prefer to go here, and it's lovely for locals to be able to walk here.
Sometimes the 3 small theatres can get a little warm, and if you're watching a longer film the lack of leg room can become uncomfortable. BUT it is a wonderful local cinema. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

The great thing about the Orpheus is that it isn't so easy to spot to the casual passer by, meaning that knowing about this place feels like your included in one of Bristol's best secrets!

The front of the cinema is an unassuming double door with film names above it, between two shops on a busy road in Henleaze. The access to the cinema is up a flight of stairs into the foyer where you can purchase your tickets, popcorn, drinks and snacks all from the same kiosk. Entering the cinema really does make you feel nostalgic, stepping back in time to cinemas of yesteryear but are showing the latest movies with the latest technology.

On some days tickets are as cheap as £3 each, making going to the cinema affordable again. Online ticket booking is possible too, and on the cheaper days is recommended. Once, we turned up 40 minutes before a film was due to start and tickets were totally sold out.

I'm not sure whether we would go to The Orpheus to watch the blockbuster fast-paced action movies - some of the 4K screens in the national cinemas in Bristol are probably better suited for these types of movies.

Two things to bear in mind if you are new to The Orpheus:

1.) The only access to the cinema is up a fight of stairs - not great if you have restricted mobility or children in pushchairs.

2.) There is no dedicated parking for patrons of the cinema - if you don't live close by, you have to find parking down some of the many surrounding residential streets.

We love this cinema and highly recommend it to all fellow film lovers.
