I have written this using my husband's account.
I visited Grupo Lounge on Saturday 26th July with a friend of mine who was visiting from Cardiff - I am 8 months pregnant and she is 5 months, which is quite significant to our experience.
Clearly the weather has been very hot lately. To start with I went up to our food - I have no problem queueing to place orders. What I do have a problem with is queueing for 10 minutes when there is only 1 till open and numerous members of staff standing around doing sod all. Would it really be that difficult to think to open another till?
Eventually I made it to the front of the queue. I was then told that the fish cakes my friend wanted to order had run out so I had to return to our table to get an alternative choice. When I asked if I could jump to the front of the queue to re-order I was told in a very rude tone "other people are queuing too - you'll have to queue again." Outstanding service towards a very pregnant woman in hot temperatures.
When I eventually returned to our table, again because of our pregnant nature and very hot temperatures, we decided we both needed some water. Because it had taken so long for us to get served my friend decided to take the whole jug of water to save multiple trips, which given the circumstances we did not think would be a big deal - how wrong we were! Almost instantly another stroppy, miserable waitress came over and berated us for having the audacity to take the whole jug!
It's a shame their service is so appalling because the food and the surroundings are actually very good. Maybe if they employed less minimum wage, surly late teen staff they would have service to match.
