The outside alleyway reminded us of a dark and dangerous movie alley. Though once we stepped through it was so bright and so many tantalizingly scents of cooking foods filled the air. The variety of different high quality good foods is quite staggering. It ranges from fruit smoothie stands(Big Juice) to Asian cuisine. The shops inside are also very interesting.

What a fantastic find. So refreshing to be able to peruse high quality, independent shops in a fantastic setting. Also amazing variety of places to eat, all looked delicious and a total mix from a pie shop to what looked like Moroccan street food-just gutted that we'd had a huge breakfast and couldn't manage anything!
Well worth a visit.

This place has a great buzz about it. The food options are really varied and cater for Vegan, Veggie, Meat eaters alike, and finished off with coffee and cake. Great place to visit for lunch.

We enjoyed it here. Most interesting and one if the best markets we’ve visited. Loads of food stalls too. If you are in Bristol this is a must. Lots to browse. Allow a couple couple of hours!

This is an open air food market with a glass roof set in an antique part of the old city. It has a range of ethnic food options- Moroccan, Portuguese, Italian, Caribbean, Asian, Middle Eastern, as well as a delicious looking bakery. All the stalls have sit down areas. So far, it has been my favorite place to eat in Bristol.

A long establish feature of Bristol life and easily missed - so make the effort to find it. The area around it is ever changing and some of the shops in the market change but they all contribute to the charm of St Nicks. An eclectic mix of shops run by independent local traders. You can even get a bad haircut there. Food, fashion, vinyl, chilli products, joke shop (nothing to do with the chilli products and selling jokes rather than being a joke of a shop) and bits for your bike, and, and, and.... Time your visit to coincide with a food market at the top of Corn Street which is right outside. Have a drink in one of the market-side pubs, including the Rummer with its Whisky Bar.

Yeah, it could be called very middle class and hipster but those are labels applied by those who have a social chip on their shoulder. In fact, there's a shop in the market that sells social chips. Power to the Middle Classes! I'm not too bothered about the hipsters but happy to co-exist!

Small typical market in the centre of the city.
Do not hesitate to visit it. Lovely place with a great choice of street food.

I went here for lunch on a sunny day with two children and my husband’s cousin, who lives here. I got falafel salad and my daughter got to try a traditional savory pie. Spilt up and have one person get a table while the other gets food, as there aren’t enough seats for everyone when the weather behaves itself. The market has some well made crafts at descent prices.

It's a mixture of market stalls for shopping and eating/drinking. It's lovely & fascinating wandering around leisurely. The food stalls sell different cuisine.

St Nicks & the docks are the only 2 places i enjoy going to in Bristol, but I only visit when the weather alows going on 2 wheels as the city council continues to treat motorists as second class citizens with their bizzare road systems that cause pollution, despite there being very little they still manage to grind it to a halt. There is a great selection of food at St Nicks, and cheap too, and when the street markets are on even better The covered market is a real mixture of goods for sale & the traders are all very friendly. The local pubs are all good, the Crown serves good food and not expensive.
