Melhua offers a slightly more formal and contemporary setting than most Indian restaurants but without the atmosphere being too stiff. We both had the taster menu which offered something completely different in terms of taste and style without departing too much from traditional indian cooking. The only reason this review is not 5 star is because we were made to feel slightly bad by the head waiter for not mentioning in advance that we were having the taster menu on a living social deal. We were supposed to give advance notice by booking by phone. Yes we were wrong but to be repeatedly told that we should have done x / y / z does not make a good first impression. Restaurants are a service industry where the consumers experience should reign supreme especially if you are seeking a michelin star. Apart from that service was exceptional.
