A hidden gem. This is an excellent restaurant with a varied and exciting menu combining the best of local fish and meat. great service and great ambience. A true local restaurant that would not be out of place with the best of what London could offer.

Can't believe this place has only been open a year, the food and experience puts this Resturant top of the tree.

We moved to Clifton a month or so ago and already Wallfish is one of our regular haunts. Clifton is blessed with lots of eating options, but Wallfish stands out if you are looking for a brasserie feel to both your food and your surroundings. Whilst the restaurant caters for both fish and meat lovers, it has always been the seafood which has stood out for us. A relaxed feel both upstairs and downstairs, excellent produce and service, all delivered at a reasonable price are the reasons why we unreservedly give this 5 stars.

Wallfish is a small restaurant so booking ahead is recommended. We visited on a Sunday lunchtime and were greeted by a fine menu. My mother-in-law and I started with succulent wallfish (snails) in garlic and butter which were noteworthy and the main courses continued the culinary delight. The 28 day hanger steak with baked marrow and the pork belly with pork cheek and cuttlefish were worthy of food envy. The service level was perfect, not too overbearing but attentive.

Looking for somewhere a bit different from the chains on a weekend away we spotted The Wallfish...and I'm very glad we did. Two three course meals, some bread and finally some truffles with the coffee and we really could not fault any of it. Add some wine and water and we had a bill that was still below £100, which given the standard of food was remarkable. In London you would pay 50% more and have to book a month in advance. A great restaurant that I cannot wait to go back to.
