This café is a popular venue for those walking their dogs and for weekend walkers. Years ago it used to be the changing rooms for the football teams who play on the Downs on Wednesdays and Saturdays. It's an interesting building and very compact offering a good menu (all day) and a wide assortment of cakes etc for those wanting a mid morning snack. There are always seats outside but the wind on the Downs can be very cool so be prepared to wrap up warm if you want to sit outside - even in the sun. Inside it is very compact so don't go there for a quiet conversation that you're not prepared to have overheard. The décor has been redone and the lay-out changed since I was there last but it is a nice break for a bracing walk across the Downs. The staff seemed friendly - we only stopped for coffee and tea.
