It does what it says.
Clean, friendly and next door to a good breakfast!

Only downside is that local road seems to be a bit noisy with boy racers showing off the volume of their exhaust pipes!
Overall, value for money, and extraordinarily comfortable bed!

On a recent visit to Bristol to attend the filming of Deal or No Deal we choose to stay at the Bristol South Premier Inn at Hengrove , what an excellent choice we made . Our stay was perfect the hotel has been recently refurbished and the rooms were lovely. The staff are all tremendous and cant do enough to help they volunteered information on local travel services, places to visit and directions how to get there. Our request to leave our luggage at the hotel on the day of departure whilst we were at the Deal or No Deal studio was met with a positive response and when we returned to collect our luggage the young man on duty was welcoming and interested to hear if we had enjoyed our day. This hotel is the perfect location if you are considering a visit for the filming of the show as its only a pleasant 15 minute walk away. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel anyone for its great staff ,location and value for money.

Situated on the edge of a leisure park with a large cinema complex, bingo hall, KFC, McDonalds, a Chinese buffet and Frankie & Bennys. We were not in any way bothered by noise (and we sleep with the window open!) and the blackout curtains very ably kept out the light. Also the Shhh signs and the self closing doors are doing their job.

The room was a generous size, spotlessly clean and comfortable. It would be churlish to complain about anything at the price we paid (fabulous offer) but we would have liked just a couple more coffee sachets and flannels ( these seem to be a disappearing breed).

Decided to eat at F & B - big mistake - and had initially thought we might have breakfast there as the offer seemed attractive, £5 plus £1.75 for coffee. However after tasting their food we opted to have breakfast at Brewers Fayre. £5.25 for a continental breakfast, as much as you like from porridge, croissants, cereals, fruit and coffee/tea. Much better value we thought and tasty and fresh.

Premier Inn was nice. Clean and friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast at Brewers Faye was OK. BUT dinner at Brewers Faye was not good. Bland and mediocre food, under staffed, and expensive for the quality of food served. Avoid.

I have stayed here several times and it will always be my first pick when I am in the Bristol area, All the staff are lovely - whether reception staff or cleaners, they will greet you with a friendly smile and offer of help.

As an example, at a Travel Lodge the night before I had asked where to find a cafe. 'No idea' was the answer. It was a local cafe and would have taken seconds to google. I had no phone connection. At the Premier Inn, I asked how to get to a particular Bristol car park and the staff member immediately looked up directions and found a post code for my sat nav.

The rooms are invariably immaculate. Great climate control. In the unlikely event anything doesn't work, it gets fixed within minutes.

If you book well ahead you can get great prices. I wasn't able to but actually felt the full price was well worth it for the two of us.

My wife and I booked into the premier Wessex Flyer in Bristol for four days and we had a reasonable stay if you ignore the one face towel provided for two people, the staff said it was policy these days. Also the shower power was non existent it was a trickle and one had to lean on the wall to clear the soap.
The bed? although its a guarantee of a good nights sleep we didn't bother to claim it, why? because as regulars of the premier we claimed it in the past but found the guilt trip too much, the bed was lumpy and out of date as they all are the modern mattress of memory foam topping eludes the premier.
we ate in the brewers fare attached and the breakfast was cold and the new idea of help yourself is a no no for me, that was on the Sunday, thank the lord it was normal on Monday though no hotter. we had a carvery on the evening and that was undercooked and cold , the lids had been left off and the early bird time we attended made it even worse it was as if it was lunch time left overs.
The same could be said for most of our stay though on occasion we had a perfect meal[ sort of ] I think cooks should be employed and the amateurs given the boot, and yes its much the same in all premiers we have stayed in though by the same token there are a couple of good cooks in there because we have had some good meals discounting the very poor menu, ok if you love chicken or Chinese or foreign foods but if your like me and only eat what we was brought up on and English, not much choice I am afraid.
This is just a sample but of course every cloud has a silver lining and in this case its the staff of the hotel and front of house staff in the restaurant.
There it is five stars for the staff and two for the premier.
Hopefully it will be better next time we stay every couple of months or so.
