On our recent visit to Bristol we were highly recommended to pay a visit to Edna's Kitchen in Castle Park (not far from the St Nicholas Market).
The kiosk is set in a prime position and has views of the St Peter's church which is now a monument to the civilian war dead in Bristol (worth a visit). There are a few tables and chairs if you wish to 'eat in'.
The portions are generous and above all the flavours will leave a memorable impression. I have cravings as I write this review........ My falafel, hummus, salad, olives was served in fresh pita bread and dressed with a delicious chilli sauce (£4.95). The key word is 'fresh' - all the ingredients are freshly and lovingly prepared and the service is personal and friendly. We asked for a plate of dolmades and like the falafel it was the best we have ever eaten. One person in our group went for the mezze box and it did not fail the taste buds, either. Mint tea complimented this lunch time meal. There was a good range of home made pastries which we did not try as our lunch portions were truly mega!
Delicious, fresh food loving prepared, good friendly service, reasonable prices and a lovely location - all well worth a visit to Edna's!
