“special place to stay for a weekend”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

We have just returned from a brilliant weekend away at the SACO Bristol. My son was celebrating his 20th birthday and wanted to go with friends to watch Grimsby Town at Bristol. I booked an apartment for the 4 of us and, having never stayed in an apartment, before didn't really know what to expect.
We were all delighted by the accommodation: It was luxurious and plenty big enough for the 4 of us. I stayed in one double bedroom and the others in the lounge with a double sofa bed and and a put-up bed and it was really comfortable. Both rooms had TV ( with Sky sports). the kitchen was extremely well equipped and the bathroom was very modern. Towels and toiletries were also provided.
All of us were impressed and would have liked to stayed longer. Our location was as good as it gets. Next to the river and right in the middle of everything: pubs, shopping, restaurants and land marks. I particularly enjoyed the 10 min walk to the harbour-side and the SS Great Britain. No need for taxi's as everything was within walking distance.
My main concern before travel was parking, I spoke to who knew Bristol well and they made me very weary as they said it was extremely easy to get a parking tickets in the city centre. The people at SACO recommended the NCP at Queen Charlotte street which I pre -booked,. It cost me just £34 to park the car from Friday afternoon till Sunday Morning. The car park was very secure and I thought good value. It was also within 5 minutes walk of the apartment. I enjoyed my stay even more knowing the car was secure, and nearby.
The only drawback of the weekend was the football 0-0.
I would thoroughly recommend the SACO, West India House. Great place and great value.

Room Tip: Book NCP car park at Queen Charlotte street, £34 approx for the weekend , but very secure and 5 minu...

This was the first time at West India House and the first time in a SACO apartment and it won't be the last! Back in the day, I worked on travel show Wish You Were Here..? - and we were always looking for new ways to 'do a city'. I would definitely have included a SACO apartment as a great place to stay. Excellent central location ( although NCP car park around the corner was a bit pricey), lovely riverside views and Rob and his team/booking staff couldn't have been more helpful. Our apartment was incredibly comfortable with all the amenities and appliances you could hope for - good quality bedlinen and towels - better than home from home!

Room Tip: Higher rooms are quieter - except for the seagulls! Thankfully there's a lift!

I have just arrived home after a weekend away with three friends. We stayed in West India House. We had a wonderful time and were very impressed with the apartments. We stayed in a two bedroom and one bedroom overlooing the waterfont. The location was perfect and the apartments gave us the chance to enjoy each others company in comfortable surroundings where in a hotel this isn't so easy. We were so impressed that we will definitely be using SACO again, back in Bristol and at other locations now we know that they are a worldwide organisation. I am also recommending SACO to other friends who are also visiting Bristol in September. Fantastic, wish I had discovered you earlier :)

Room Tip: Higher apartments have better views

This was our second stay at West India House in a one bed apartment, previously on the 2nd floor and this time the top floor.
It is like a miniature home form home, with all mod cons that now includes free WiFi.
Located in the centre of Bristol overlooking the waterway it is ideal for the shops, markets, theatres, museums, restaurants, etc.
It is also only a few minutes walk or ferry ride from Temple Mead railway station.
Check-in is not until 4pm and luggage can be left at Broad Quay reception, but we were allowed in before 4pm on both visits.
Just don't forget your two-pin plug adapter for electric toothbrushes, shavers, etc.

Room Tip: Choose a room overlooking the waterway at the front.

Clean, spacious, and thoughtful apartment. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay there with my grandmother and sister. There was more than enough space for the 3 of us. Will definitely stay there again and recommend to friends.

We had a terrible experience at geometric blue service apartment, so initially worried about the booking of saco west india house studio apartment, but no other choice, as most of bristol's hotel were fully booked . Not stayed with SACO before but would certainly do so again. Clean , spacious accommodation with thoughtful extras . The kitchen was well equipped and separated from the main room by a door. Manager (Rob) was very helpful. A definitely yes yes place to stay again.

Room Tip: Please ask a room with river view.

We could not get into a hotel for a weekend stay in Bristol so booked into a studio apartment . Not stayed with SACO before but would certainly do so again. Clean , spacious accommodation with thoughtful extras . The kitchen was well equipped and separated from the main room by a door so did not hear fridge noise for example. Good quality towels in the bathroom .Excellent check in and check out procedures. Compared to a hotel room we had far more space and liked the independence. This particular apartment was well located. We asked for a quiet room and we got one .Very impressed.
