“Cold food etc.”
Reviewed 14 July 2014

Just returned home from a visit to El Puerto. Sadly disappointed from the last time we went. The food was cold and so were the plates. We opted for the £20 per head menu for four....no spoons for dishing out anything other than your own cutlery. Best dish was the mushrooms. The set menu includes a selection of puddings but no side plates to serve them on so a lot of it ended up all over the table like a kids tea party. The desert which appeared to be some kind of unfilled profiterole was like the remnants of a stale trifle and fairly disgusting. Only I tasted the anemic calamari, which tasted like they forgot to actually cook it - dubiously un-calamari-like in texture. Don't think i will be going back there in a hurry.

“Great tapas”
Reviewed 14 July 2014

Went here for a birthday celebration. Staff were friendly and helpful and just loved the selection of tapas. All were very tasty, lovely and hot and had a great jug of sangria! Nice location just opposite the harbour.

“Worth the wait for a table”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

We arrived on a very busy Saturday evening, stupidly without a reservation. We were initially told it would be 5-10 minutes for a table. We happily went to the bar and had a jug of sangria.

Half an hour later, there was still no sign of a table coming free. We were happy to leave, and try our luck elsewhere. As we went to leave, we were stopped by a member of staff, who was very apologetic, and offered us free drinks. We accepted another jug of Sangria, and were seated within 10 minutes.

The food was excellent. We opted for the £20pp menu, between the 4 of us. There was more than enough food to go around, and a really good selection of dishes.

Despite the very busy and hectic service, staff were attentive and helpful.

I've visited El Peurto in the past, and will visit again in the future (but will remember to book in advance!)

“Lovely Evening”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

Booked at last minute, and well worth a visit. Our wedding anniversary after an appalling year(my ill health).
We took the train from Weston to Bristol for something different, and we certainly found it here. An authentic Spanish restaurant with delicious tapas, and fantastic service. If I had to pick one fault, it would be the very small and unmeaty ribs, which were a bit bland, but other than that, absolutely lovely. The waitress was attentive but discreet, and made us feel special.

Oh and the house wine is good enough, so stick with it.

“Romantic and fun”
Reviewed 7 July 2014 via mobile

Went here with my fiancée Sunday night and it was fantastic. Really authentic Spanish theme with a great atmosphere, amazing food and some of the best waiting staff we have come across. So friendly and helpful. We will be returning and bringing friends. Absolutely fabulous.
