Classic pub charm! As you enter the through the pub you can't help but be taken in by the rustic charm of the place. The staff are (how can I put it...) direct and to the point, I wouldn't call it the most friendliest of welcomes? Both the rooms and bar area are well decorated and comfortable. Unfortunately I didn't get chance to sample any of the meals as the breakfast is continental only. Overall, a pleasant place to stay.

Absolutely delicious food at the Five Bells on Saturday night. Best to book as it gets really busy. Friendly service and a great choice of items on the menu.

Would definitely go back when I'm in the area and would recommend it.

Having stayed at the Five Bells Vintage Inn this weekend (Sunday 4th March) I would thoroughly recommend it.

I booked on Wednesday night and although there was only a twin room left, my partner and I took it. The Inn was easy to find, on the main road in Weston Turville. We were greeted and checked in by a lovely chatty guy, who told us everything we needed to know. Our stay at the Inn was simply a short one and we only needed a room to 'lay our heads' on a quick visit to family at the camp in Halton. Parking was secure, off road, at the back of the Inn, with CCTV and spaces outside the room windows, which was reassuring.

My only complaint would be that the next morning, the boiler had decided to pack in, leaving us with no water for a shower, washing or brushing our teeth. Luckily, we could do all of this at my families but others didn't have that as an alternative. However, we were provided with a massive jug of water to use in the mean time while waiting for the emergency repair people.

Breakfast was wonderful, with more than just toast and cereal to choose from. There was a fruit selection, many breads and bagels, teas, coffee, jams, spreads, yoghurts, cereals and juices and a newspaper for each table too!

Overall, I enjoyed my stay and will definitely be visiting again!

Room Tip: Ground floor seemed to be less noisy?

Nice clean rooms, though in early january no central heating on in rooms, they were either turned off or just not working,We had a small noisey fan heater, and yes it was cold so you needed it on but try sleeping with this noisey thing on.Not impressed.room 15 is what i had and i was staying their as i had a 45 mile run too do on the sat 14th jan.Right underneath my room was the toilets in the inn and all you could hear all night was the toilet door slamming every two to three minuites, that really needs sorting out.You could not book an early morning call, and though i was told the tv had an alarm the remote control buttons did not work so hence no alarm so had to rely on my phone.Ibelieve if they were to sort out these few problems this would be a better place to stay.Would i return erm NO sorry.

Room Tip: No where near room 15 or you will not get a good nights sleep!!!!

Stayed here over Christmas whilst visiting relative nearby. This despite the fact that reduced rate rooms advertised both on line and in the lodge itself seemed impossible to book! Food including Christmas day lunch was perfectly acceptable. The accommodation, however, left a lot to be desired. The central heating was not working. The electric heater supplied, despite the mild weather, was totally inadequate. The shower drain was blocked and overflowed after about 60 seconds use. After a complaint was made we were moved, on our own suggestion, to another room.
Have twice sent e-mails to customer care, so far no response. Have used Innkeepers Lodges often in the past but will think twice before I do so again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
If you're looking for a hotel with character near Tring and the Chiltern Hills, this charming 19th century lodge, nestled in the ancient Aylesbury village of Weston Turville, is a great place to stay.In the 1800s, local farmers tethered their horses to the fence of the pub while they popped inside for a drink. Back then there was barely enough room for four tables. These days, guests can enjoy much more spacious surroundings, which combine all the rustic charms of the original old English inn together with plenty of 21st century comforts.Upstairs there are 16 modern rooms while the pub, among the cosiest around, is the perfect spot to enjoy a few heart-warming drinks and some fresh, seasonally inspired food. You'll find the village near Aston Clinton and Aylesbury, just down the road from the renaissance-style splendour of Waddesdon Manor. Nearby, you can venture into the hills along the famous Icknield Way or relive the glories of the age of steam at Buckinghamshire Railway Centre. ... more   less
