“Perfect for a weekend away”
Reviewed 13 December 2014 for a stay in December 2014

The cottage was lovely, the owners really friendly and we particularly enjoyed the log fire and big screen TV. Perfect for a weekend away!

“Relaxing & comfortable stay!”
Reviewed 17 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

We absolutely loved our stay in the cottage. It was so lovely to get out of London for the weekend. We do not drive and got the train into town and Pete ( the owner) was friendly enough to even pick us up from the train station on Friday night! Very nice of him to do that!
The pub across the road is GREAT! Has some really delicious beers and serves food until 9pm. But can get really busy and booked up quick - so don't rely on this as your option for food. There are NO shops within walking distance. If you are NOT driving it is a good idea that you bring food and drinks to keep you going for the weekend. Or you will waste quality relaxation/sight seeing time, getting a bus into the next town just for basics.
All in all , were very warm and conformable. Great BIG TV was awesome, great bed, fantastic hot shower and very friendly owner :)

We're glad you enjoyed your stay and appreciate you taking the time to provide a review. For future guests' information, there is a Community Shop in the village that sells all necessary provisions including fresh bread, fruit, veg and meat but is only open until 12 midday at weekends. I'm glad you enjoyed the pub food too. I would definitely recommend booking in advance. We hope to welcome you back one day.

“A perfect holiday cottage”
Reviewed 18 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

The stables was such a welcoming place to come back to at the end of a day's walking/sightseeing. The bathroom is very high spec, and the kitchen has everything you need. The lounge area (with that large TV!) is very cosy and perfect for sitting with a glass of something as you unwind, before heading to the big bed to end your day. The perfect stay.

Liked best: the feel of being in an old building, but with modern spec
Liked least: The wait for hot water through the shower

“First Class - Very high standard.”

This cottage is of a very high standard. We had some good weather and sitting in the back garden was a delight, surrounded by greenery and a nice little sun trap. The accommodation itself was excellent. Although not being great TV watchers the huge telly was amazing. We went for a couple of walks straight from the cottage, stopping for a pint at a delightful pub in a nearby village. The owners, Rachel & Peter, living next door, were very friendly and helpful without being 'in your face'. Ideal for a quiet relaxing break away from it all. Would highly recommend.

Liked best: High Standard + Country Village Location & Garden
Liked least: Difficult to fault it really. A small freezer would have been handy. Might benifit from a large rug in main room during winter.
