“Worth the wait?”
Reviewed 5 July 2014 via mobile

If I had a hat I would take it off to Frankie and Benny's of High Wycombe for the effort to which they must go for their customers.
My partner and I popped in for dinner today and on arrival we ordered two pints of coke and were both left in awe by the efforts they must have gone too to get them.
I can only imagine that one of the poor beleaguered members of staff had to travel to Gatwick, board a plane and travel to the far off land where from Pepsi hails, after then hiking into the mountains to find the elusive Pepsi spring and filled our two glasses before making the treacherous return journey, evading all manner of bandits on the road. It is the only feasible explanation for the time it took to get them.
The main course arrived much quicker which is understandable as having ordered chicken and a steak in a country of mostly agricultural land a cow and chicken must have been significantly easier to find.
Likewise with the Eton Mess, which we were disappointed to find that on it's return journey from Eton college, given the hot weather had melted to slush turning any meringue hidden in there to mush.
We left feeling full, but only of respect for the intrepid explorers of High Wycombe's Frankie and Benny's.
God bless you on your future adventures.

“Depressingly awful food”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

I know it is a chain and that you shouldnt expect Michellin starred food, but this was particularly bad. The chips and cheese and New Jersey chicken were inedible with processed cheese from a can squirted on top. You cant use proper cheese?? Food was cold. The chicken salad looked nothing like the picture on the menu, small deep friend chicken lumps. Kids liked the deserts. The servers were nice, not their fault obviously, but one of those places that leaves you depressed about the state of eating out in the UK these days. Mass produced, bad quality, and not even very cheap. My mistake for hoping for better I guess.

“Slow service & Egg Benedict breakfast OK”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

Went here in Feb 2014 & had Egg Benedict and it was fantastic, went again one Saturday morning in June to have the same and it was only nice & OK.
The staff seemed to be under staffed as it was slow although the poor guy was running around looking after everyone single handed. We ordered our breakfast and coffee/tea at the same time, the drinks took ages to arrive, at the same time as the food, I would have liked them to arrive within a few minutes from ordering, they were not exactly busy, this leaving just enough time for me to have one more coffee after breakfast at a push, so despite it saying endless tea/coffee, there is not a lot of time allowed to drink more than two if you only have a breakfast. At about 10:30AM another member of staff turned up to help out, all a bit late for us.

“Table for one please”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

Frankie & Benny's is always a safe bet for a nice bite to eat and I'd happily go back here. It wasn't busy (630pm on a Wednesday night), the staff were friendly and the food was great.

I ordered from the evening special menu and had meatballs to start and the spicy sausage calzone - for which I was asked if I wanted it extra spicy, or as it comes - I'm glad I didn't go extra spicy as it was plenty hot enough, but - damn - it was good!

“Nice food”
Reviewed 31 May 2014 via mobile

Went with a friend after going bowling which is just next door. The restaurant itself is very nice. Nicely decorated. Food is quite good, if a little pricey but they do specials through the week which may appeal to a lot of people. The only downside is its a bit of a pig to find if you don't know about Eden shopping centre.
