A winner at every level.
Charming staff.
We enjoyed a wonderful lunch.
Wished we could have had dinner as well, but the reason for staying here was to attend an evening function in nearby Princes Risborough.
Our room was cottage cosy and like the rest of the inn enjoyed wonderful views from every window.
If you want a real treat in the English countryside come here to eat and preferably stay.
We will be back to enjoy a couple of days next time.

Room Tip: Bring a book and sit in their garden. The views are stunning. Red kites hovering over lush green val...

The Three Horseshoes is worth finding. We stayed 1 night, arriving in the middle of a storm! The staff were friendly, the food was delicious and our room was very comfortable. We enjoyed it all so much we are going back in a couple of months time as it is an excellent area for walking but not in an electrical storm. We stayed in the Luxborough Room and enjoyed a very comfortable bed and beautiful views across the countryside. The breakfast was excellent.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back look over the countryside but this pub is in a very quiet location with very light...

Great place to stay, eat or drink. Charming decor and great service. Highly recommended and will be stay here again if work brings me this way. It is quite off the beaten track but the journey down the country lanes is while worthwhile. Congratulations to Simon and his team for their high standards.

Stayed here for a Friday night as a birthday treat for my partner. We stayed in the Moliere room - which was quirky but very comfortable. Dinner menu had a lovely selection, was reasonably priced and food was delicious! Wine list was equally good. Breakfast the following morning was very good. We will definitely go again, and will recommend it.

This was the second time we had been to the Three Horseshoes and because the first time we had a really enjoyable time we decided to take our guests there. We arrived at the restaurant to find that they had placed us in a dingy area in the bar. The outlook was the main road, the tables were uneven and dirty with ring marks and the floor area was dirty. I informed the manager that I was very unhappy and he advised that they had a wedding party but I feel this was not a good enough reason to treat us second class. We booked our table over a month before so they had plenty of time to advise us that they had a wedding party and we would have looked for somewhere else. They should not have taken the booking and we told them this and we then left as we had no intention of entertaining our guests in such a dirty environment. We were unbelievably disappointed and we will not be returning.

We received a very cool welcome on arrival and were just pointed in the direction of our room for the night, the Loxborough room. The room had a very pleasant view, overlooking the small rear garden, weeping willow, a pond, fountain and submerged red telephone box. The only downside to this was the noise of conversation and cigarette smoke from drinkers in the garden wafted in through our open window, so we closed it, end of problem. We were booked in for dinner of course, as the food was the main reason we had decided to stay here. The menu was very appealing and I spent some time in selecting my preferred dishes, finally settling on pan fried scallops with pea puree, crispy parma ham shards and black pudding crumble followed by pan fried fillet of Cornish monkfish with saffron risotto, confit tomatoes and asparagus, tomato and olive oil coulis. Both dishes provided a lovely, thoroughly enjoyable combination of flavours. I was brought the wrong starter initially but this was quickly remedied once the maitre d' noticed. Service was very quick and efficient making us feel somewhat rushed when we were eating, we tried to linger a little over dessert which was a divine experience, vanilla and yoghurt panna cotta with poached blackberries, quite the best panna cotta I have ever had! We then retired to our room knowing that the digital signal for the television was so awful to make viewing virtually impossible, (we did report this but unlike other guests, our bill was not adjusted).
Breakfast the following day was delicious, I particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit and the beautifully cooked scrabbled eggs with tasty smoked salmon.
Our room overall was comfortable but little things like the short flex on the kettle which meant it had to be boiled on the floor, the not quite clean bath and the mouldy shower screen seal spoiled our general impression. It would be better too if guests were made to feel more welcome and valued.
