This is a typical premier Inn. Clean, comfortable (although I'm not convinced by the new mattress they boast about), very central and very good value for money.
The problem with this location is the car parking. The hotel has about 20 or so allocated spaces in a Council run car park behind the hotel. The problem for us was we were staying for 3 days and, using the Council machine, paid for 3 days up front. What the machine notices didn't warn us was that when we used our car and returned later that day there was no guarantee there would still be a space for us, which their wasn't.
The reception staff were very patient and very helpful and said we could use the hotel loading bay if no spaces were free in the future. It seems this is a regular issue for customers.
Premier Inn should really tell the Council they can keep the spaces as the Council's system is just causing grief for their staff through no fault of their own.
There is a multi storey next door which costs about the same and I would recommend customers just use this and not bother with the designated spaces.
The restaurant was good, staff fitted us in late in the evening and were very friendly and helpful.

1st, people go on about the parking! It was fine, park on Mc Donald’s behind the hotel for 90 min’s free, and then we got a space in the car park no trouble (if not the Sainsbury’s one next door is big and seemed to have plenty of spaces) Tip if you are in a van the hotel and the Sainsbury’s CP’s have height restriction but not the Mc Donald’s. Rooms well-furnished, good bed, hot water, big flat screen TV, good cooked breakfast, (not rubbery like some places) one of the best Premier's we have been in.

First stay at this hotel and very impressed. As I was travelling with a disabled person I was concerned about our room being suitable. I need not have worried the staff were so helpful and our room was excellent with a very well equipped bathroom. Breakfast was good and great value for money. Even though the hotel is situated in the middle of town we did not have any problems with noise as our room was at the side of the hotel. I will definitely stay again.

I stayed here for one night. It has all the usual Premier Inn features and an excellent restaurant. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The parking is an issue and it would do well to obtain some of the local parking places to offer the guests. Would stay again if in the area.
