Description: Andy and Emma have refurbished 'The Boot Pub' Bledlow Ridge to offer you and your family a relaxing and welcoming modern village pub and eating house. Situated in the heart of the picturesque Chiltern Hills, The Boot offers local ales, fresh locally produced food and fabulous wines. The Boot's menu reflects our chef's desire to create exciting dishes to suit all tastes, so you and your family can dine in style. The Boot's huge garden provides hours of fun for children (and well behaved dogs) to play, a stunning outdoor eating area and ample room for marquees to cater for larger events. Whether you fancy joining us for a casual drink, a delicious evening meal or a leisurely Sunday lunch, you will always be greeted with a friendly smile and attentive service.

I went in May 2013 after it has been refurbished and under the new ownership and I was really happy. The interior is relaxing, refined and friendly. The menu is grand - with lots of choices at a whole range of prices. I had Posh Chicken with apricot stuffing, gravy and chips £13 and a bowl of minted peas £3 (a big bowl). It was lovely and good value, I cleaned the plate and enjoyed every moment.

The owners are friendly and have a done an excellent job, this feels like a welcoming, friendly, well run village pub with nice food and meals that you want to go out for and an excellent range of drinks.

Seeing the 1 star review - whoever wrote it clearly has a grudge or are just miserable. The idea that the 'Old Boot' had tradition is nonsense. The New Boot is somewhere I would go to if I lived in the next village, or even several miles away. I will be back there in June with a friend and we will have steak which is on the menu and looks good.

Village pubs need support and when one is done as well as this, it thoroughly deserves more support. Check it out, you will not be disappointed.

This pub was a great find. It's comfortable and welcoming. The service was fab and the food was well worth the 6 mile walk. Especially the burgers which are most definately home made.
The Boot hasn't been open very long but we were impressed and it was busy so ring and book for a juicy home made yummy burger.

The Boot in Bledlow Ridge has been utterly transformed after Bledlow Ridge long time residents Emma and Andy took over the management of this village-owned pub in June 2013.

First, they invested a lot of money in gutting the interior of the pub resulting in a layout that makes a lot of sense and is very stylish. Second they have brought in a fantastic head chef.

I went with my wife and sister-in-law plus our 4 kids for lunch on Sunday. I had a delicious pork belly with apple and black pudding and the ladies had roast beef which they said was one of the best roasts they had ever had. Great Yorkshire pudding and veg too. The portions were also big - no pansy itsy bitsy nouvelle cuisine which tastes great but forces you to have a proper meal when you get back home!

You should book for Sunday lunch in advance as they seem to be pretty busy (though they had space outside in the garden).

Highly recommended.

Visited on a Sunday , never having been before it seemed less like a pub and more like a restaurant. Friendly staff. We ate and had the only vegetarian meal available. When it arrived it had Parmesan (no mention on the menu). We queried whether it was veggie Parmesan. Waitress didn't know. Checked with chef who said it was, but did another one without the cheese, rather than seeing if I still wanted the one made. It also had cream (no mention on menu) which is also not always veggie. Vegetarians be aware of places who advertise pasta dishes but are clearly ignorant to what ingredients they use. Nice place though to sit outside in the sun. Ladies toilet very swish, but men's had no hand dryer & a manky towel.

After an extensive refurb and new staff, The Boot has been transformed. Prior to the work, it always struggled to know what it was- Pub? Restaurant? The problem was it consistently fell between the two stools. Now though it feels modern and vibrant with distinct areas for eating and drinking. A diverse and reasonably priced wine list plus beers from the local Marlow Brewery cater for drinkers whilst those wishing to eat can choose from an interesting menu that offers something for everyone and all budgets (the pork belly was great). The staff are fantastic -attentive without being pushy. All in all, The Boot is now what it always should have been- a local pub full of customers enjoying themselves. Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for a pub dining experience that is miles from the '2 main courses for a tenner' nonsense.
