Herbies American Diner is the restaurant at the Travelodge Site on the A14 at Swavesey, Cambridgeshire.

There were three of us and we had a two course meal with 4 beers and a Root Beer.

The portions are really generous and the service is top class. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the desserts are a must too. At £60.00 for three this was a real bargain as the drinks bill accounted for £20.00 of this.

Highly recommended for a visit, even if you just want a touch of Route 66!

The staff are very welcoming and attentive. The tables and toilets clean. A comprehensive menu with something for everyone.
My party had a variety of dishes all arrived cooked to perfection after a short wait over a good coffee.
Our group ride to cafe's and diners every Saturday. This is one of the better diners we've found and we will definitely return.

This place is simply a little gem.
My girlfriend and myself had been looking for a place for our brunch dates for a while, somewhere that serves an all day breakfast all day (hard to find in these parts) that also have fried bread on it as she loves it.
I live down the road in Bar Hill and pass Herbies everyday on my commute. On the off chance one night we went for a burger and fries and Milkshake and it blew us away, was the best value for money anywhere around these parts.
We know return every Monday ordering the same thing. Two Big Boys, one with no Tomatoes and Flipped Eggs (she's a fussy one) and one with no Tomatoes or Mushrooms (I'm just unhealthy). Now being the fussy ones we are with out requests, the staff do not mind at all. We normally are served by a dark haired lately and recently a young man, both of whom are constantly smiling, and with a relaxed service style, they're very easy to talk to.
The decor in the place is wicked, a big diner print with Mustangs and Camaros lines the whole cafe, with authentic duke box playing out what I can only pressume are the classics, but are annoyingly catchy as I can't stop singing the rest of the day!
The menu has got something for everyone, it's not just a greasy spoon as people may pressume, salads and 'hand helds' are available with soft drinks, hot drinks, an alcoholic menu and milkshakes that will keep any child (or grown up) quiet with satisfaction!
It's such an easy place to dismiss and drive past, but if you can, plan to stop there instead of over the road at Extra, it will be so worth your time.
Keep up the good works Guys and Girls, I'd love to see this place grow and gain the recognition it deserves!

Stayed at travelodge overnight looking for breakfast we was going to barhill local superstore but thought we would walk across the car park and try what we thought was a roadside cafe.
On first impressions looks like regular cafe but how wrong we were stepped inside you are transported to an all American Diner great atmosphere clean bright colours greeted with a big smile had a lovely booth for two ordered two lattes fried cooked breakfast, we wasn't disappointed quality of meat ie bacon, sausages, eggs was superb the chef has certainly sourced good local outdoor produce
Definitely retuning for another breakfast well done team

As soon as you walk into the restaurant you are met with a smile and led to a booth with authentic American Diner seating. There is a jukebox in the corner of the venue with music playing from the 50's as well as decor around that gives off the overall vibe of being in a traditional American Diner.

The service was very fast and very friendly as well, everyone had a smile on their face and as well as this they all looked as if they were pleased to have your service, as well as pleased to be working in the team that they were in.

The food was very delicious and great value for money, they have a burger challenge which looks like it is not for the feint of hearted but if you manage this feat in under 20 minutes you get a £20 gift card and if you complete it out of that time or even in it you get a picture on the prestigious wall of fame, fail however at this challenge and you end up with your picture on the coveted wall of shame.

You can tell this is a local business and in my opinion greatly reflects on the level of service and food you receive as they do not rely on a brand. I would take this over somewhere like Ed's Diner any day.
