Had dinner with friends on a Monday evening.
Wine list varied and reasonable without being ridiculously extensive to the point of getting lost for choice!
Slightly surprised and disappointed that the waiter declared he hadn't tasted any of the dishes we asked about. If I ran a restaurant all of my staff would be expected to know the products!!! In comparison we ate at Hotel Du Vin in Cambridge and our waitress knew all of the cheeses on the cheese trolley and there were lots!!!
Dessert was good, simple apple flan, executed well and lifted by incredibly flavoursome vanilla ice cream.
Atmosphere was good and very relaxed. We sat down at 1945 and it was 2230 before we knew it.
Try it and I personally think you'll like it.
Only a 5 min walk from town centre. Stop for a drink at the Mitre on the way!!!
I had the duck in port and cherry sauce. Absolutely fantastic. Friend had the monkfish and she loved it.
