This is one of my favourite places for lunch in Cambridge.

It is very relaxed and the food is amazingly fresh and delicious. I do not know how they keep their prices down, but the meals are only around £6.95 to eat in. Portion sizes are generous, and the food is always perfectly cooked and fresh.

I had chicken breast stuffed with feta and spinach, in a beautiful creamy sauce. My husband had the salmon, which came with mixed sea food and a lovely sauce and my daughter had the beef noodles.

It is equally good for a panini, soup, pizza or coffee and cake.

Went for dinner last Saturday night. Quality of food was very low in general. For starters, the recommended scallops were overcooked. Vegetarian rolls were presented on a bed of cold, boil, tasteless sliced vegetables. For mains, sea bream was filled with bones; steak was gristly throughout. Did complain and get money back for the fish, but overall, was poor. No comparison to Oak Bistro or Crown and Punchbowl at similar prices.

Been coming here for 7 years, always consistently good take away lunch at very reasonable prices - more expensive than other places in the vicinity but much much better than the tripe served up elsewhere. The sitdown food always looks so so good, one of these days i will find the time to stay, sit and eat.

You choose your food. It looks good. It goes in the microwave. It comes out. It looks horrible. A very odd experience.

Being French and living in the UK, I often miss my "home food" so i do now and then try a French restaurant to see if i can find the taste of home again!
I have tried quite a few French and so-called French restaurant in the last 15 years and I must say that Le Gros Franck is by far my favorite one!
It is a REAL French restaurant with a REAL French chef!
The portions are very generous and the food is always excellent!
I have been there a few times and i have never had a bad word to say about it!
I also recommend their sister restaurant "La maison du steak" for a "brasserie" style dinning experience
