We've stopped in Cambridge overnight on our way to Northumberland. We had a very pleasant meal and a nice drink at The Mitre (fish and chips, very good). Prices reasonable, service quite efficient and friendly.
A place we'll recommend to our friends.

Ate here when shopping on Saturday. Good food, with plenty on the plate. We both had burgers, pulled pork one was a little disappointing due to small amount of pork, but otherwise fine. Good selection of beers. Obviously busy pub. Friendly staff. Seemed clean.

From entering the pub, to ordering drinks and food, to eating and finally leaving this was a very pleasant experience. We initially saw it was a Nicholson pub and although we have not fully enjoyed a previous one in York we gave it a go. We sat at the rear of the pub which was clearly marked for dining, Table 26/27. We consisted of a party of four, father, mother and two daughters.
The food we had was diverse, not one selection the same, but it was served hot and with a smile.
It was followed up with an all ok, during the meal, which gives any disgruntled customer to complain if not ok. This was a day out to Cambridge from our home town of Chesterfield. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food we had chosen and the service given. Thankyou

Great quality and tasty burgers, amazing chips and great choice of sides and desserts. Just wish there was Nicholsons pub nearer to where we live! Great atmosphere and very friendly staff.
