“Excellent Nights Sleep”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 November 2011

Stayed overnight as was in Cambridge on business. Had an excellent nights sleep in a very comfortable bed. Warm and cosy and a proper sized bath. Only criticism is that some form of wash-cloth would have been nice. Breakfast next morning was really good. As much as you wanted, no limits. I had a beautifully fresh fruit salad followed by granary toast, egg, baked beans, tomatoes and bacon washed down with lashings of very nice coffee. Try as I might I couldn't fit in another mouthful.

Room Tip: My room overlooked the car park, but my colleague whose room overlooked the A14 had no complaints ab...

Easy to find, welcoming staff, clean and well set out room, freeview TV as spent a couple of hours unwinding after a long day. Two good nights sleep - comfy king-size bed. The internal restaurant and food great for an evening meal and breakfast! Staff excellent - will use again when visiting that part of the country! We enjoyed our stay very much. Will look out for an early booking next time to get even better value for money.

We stayed here for our first night in Cambridge when moving to the city, as our rented accomodation wasn't available until the following morning.

We had an awful stay recently at the Travelodge (Cambridge Central, not the one near this hotel) so wasn't sure what to expect. However when we approached the hotel I breathed a sigh of relief as it is almost new, and very clean and modern-looking from the outside.

Check-in was swift and painless, especially useful as we arrived rather late, and really just wanted to sleep. The lifts are slightly confusing as one of them only serves the even floors, and the other serves every floor! But as long as you pay attention and don't get in the wrong one, you won't get lost!

The room is everything you'd expect from Premier Inn - a decent size, well-appointed and modern with a flat-screen TV, Tea and Coffee making facilities, and a modern clean bathroom. Everything was spotless. They only provided one towel which was slightly odd!

The only thing I would change in the room is the "daylight" lightbulbs, which have a harsh white glare as opposed to regular light-bulbs. They are not to my taste, however I appreciate others may not agree with me! But with them being present in the ceiling light, bathroom, and bedside lights, it was difficult to adjust the lighting to a pleasant setting.

We left early in the morning so didn't sample breakfast, but the restaurant adjoins the hotel from Reception, and it seemed pleasant enough.

All in all, I thoroughly recommend this hotel, it is well-placed for the city centre. And now that we live here, we will certainly be recommending it for friends and family that visit!

I have always been wary of Premier Inn,but my visit to this hotel have changed my mind. The reception staff were very helpful ,and indeed happy. The room was pleasant, clean and I had a good night sleep. For a one night stopover it offers good nights sleep at a fair price.

This was my second stay this year at this hotel. I would be happy to stay here again. Though part of a chain, each Premier Inn hotel has its own style within a basic format. They offer good value for money, especially if you can get the "earlybird" specials. In terms of facilities the only thing really missing from my perspective is a facecloth in the bathroom - and this applies to all the Premier Inns I've stayed in. On my first visit to this hotel I was informed of its special security service for solo female travellers, developed in association with the Suzy Lamplugh (sp?) Trust. It wasn't mentioned on the second visit but reception staff took care not to "announce" my room number, rather handing it to me inside the cover of the keycard holder. I applaud this initiative and commend it to other Premier branches, and other hotels, especially the practice of not putting single females at the end of a corridor.

This branch is well appointed for those travelling by car, though some distance from the railway station. For those without a car, once you get there there is, however, a nearby bus stop, with buses to the city passing every 20 minutes. Allow time to pre-purchase your bus ticket from the machine at the stop - apparently the bus drivers get grumpy if you try to buy ticket as you get on the bus, though I didn't personally witness that. As usual the room was clean and comfortable, though smaller than those in other branches I've stayed in. Reception staff were helpful but on both visits I found service in the restaurant to be slow and somewhat casual. The food was good though.

very nice rooms and good food at a fair price.its a few miles out of Cambridge so a car is useful.ideal for a short stopover.i think £29 for a room for 2 people per night is a good price.
