We have stayed several times at this Premier Inn - always good value for money. But this time we noticed in particular really excellent customer service. We were travelling with elderly parents who were looked after very well. And I was very impressed when I was offered free coffee when joining my family briefly while they breakfasted in the restaurant. It all made for a relaxing stay.

the hotel was easy to find , all staff friendly and helpful , the room clean and well designed , the bed was large with a thick mattress and the pillows are wonderful to the fact I would buy them if premier inn was to sell them . having the restaurant within the building is a lot better than having to walk to a separate restaurant .
the food was excellent and costa coffee on site . and I think budget is the wrong term to describe this hotel , value for money is a better term . I would recommend and will use this company again and will be my first choice when looking for a hotel .

Stayed just the one night with friends (2x double rooms). Rooms were a reasonable size and clean and modern. Hotel quiet and secure. Reception and bar staff were efficient and polite. Easy to find and convenient for the road network, with on-site parking. A taxi is required if you're heading into the city as we did (~£10 each way). Breakfast was simple, but plentiful, offering reasonable choice. Perfectly pleasant stay although relatively expensive for, what is after all, a budget hotel.

Travelled up to Cambridge for family party and had to stay the night. Found the restaurant adequate but had to wait until it opened at 6pm. After staying in many other Premier Inns around the country this was a first. BUT the biggest shock was having premier inn staff walk into our room before 9am on a sunday morning when we were sound asleep!!!!!! They obviously knocked but as checkout is not until 12 noon and we had cancelled our breakfast we had not expected to see a human until later in the day!!! Lady at checkout did not enquire as to the quality of our stay. No clear road markings as to the way back to the main road. This is an odd location, a hotel in the middle of a new housing estate next to a pimary school. It feels very odd.

The usual good quality stay- great bed and cleanliness. Slightly out of town but with transport not too much of a problem to make the journey. Usual level of customer service--good. breakfast was not originally booked but on arrival the offer was made and taken. One again a good choice with excellent food made available.

We were very satisfied with the excellent food and comfortable room. Our two night stay was very reasonably priced for this standard of hotel.
The hotel is a couple of miles from central Cambridge and we had to use taxis to and from the train station which added cost. There may have been a cheaper bus service available, but we were not aware of details.

This is one of the better Premier Inns - there's no dispute about that. The general quality is high, and, although some rooms are not great because of their location (as is true in every hotel), it's possible to have a good stay here.

There two things, however, that really get my goat.

1. The Wifi is really rubbish. I don't mean the price: you get 30 mins free and then get charged. No, I mean the actual speed. I've wasted most of this evening trying to do something really simple, as my PC slowed and slowed and slowed and slowed, to the point where hitting a key involved a delay before the character appeared. What galls about this is that I happen to know that a massive new transmitter has been installed in the vicinity, in Orchard Park, and that very high speed internet is available now throughout the area. Please Premier Inn ... FIX THIS!!! I come here to work in the evenings. And you're making it hard! I'm actually typing this after turning my smartphone into a wifi hotspot - and although its only 3G, it's infinitely faster than your "wifi"!!!

2. Why do people ramble around the corridors at 1am, slamming doors? I don't think these are guests. It's as if the night staff do their round, and allow every fire door to slam behind them. Apart from anything else... couldn't something be fitted to ensure the fire doors do NOT slam?

But otherwise I recommend the place. The management are interested in making this a good place to stay, and it is. The restaurant, which is built-in, has only a limited menu, but within that limit is very good!
