“Comfortable stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014

Very comfortable stay at this hotel. The range of prices available at this hotel is quite wide, so the rating could vary upon what you pay. In keeping with other Premier Inns that I have stayed at, the standard is very good. The only criticism would be the sterile nature of the style of the finish. Unlike other reviews, the noise from the A14 was almost indiscernible

Spent two nights while attending a meeting in Cambridge. Hotels in the city were booked up because of May Balls, However, would always use this hotel in future visits to Cambridge. Easily found by car, clean and welcoming. Comfortable. The food/meals looked very good and good value for money but we ate in town which was easily reached by bus.
Liked the choice of pillows.

As ever, a good value stay (do book in advance online for good prices). This hotel is located next to the A14 and it's next to a rather upmarket housing estate (nice landscaping) Although it's on the outskirts of Cambridge, there is a bus stop five minutes walk away which takes you into Cambridge within 10-15 minutes. Staff were very friendly and helpful. When asked about buses they produced a map, they marked the bus stops for us and advised on the (cheap) fares. What more can you ask? We didn't dine in the hotel as there are so many lovely places to eat in Cambridge itself. Although it is next to a main road we didn't notice any particularly high noise level. We were using a wifi weekly pass which, for £10, we thought reasonable. Strangely enough, it was mobile coverage (Virgin) that was slightly dubious, resulting in our wandering around the hotel looking for a signal!

We spent one night here on a tour of England. We have two kids so Premiere is a good value when you can reserve the family room that sleeps 4. A rarity in Europe. Not a lot of room in there, but enough for you to get around. Clean and friendly staff.

Had a very good experience at this Premier Inn, especially considering that bed and breakfast for my family of 4 came in at just under £53! Room was quiet and comfortable. Downside was wifi access - you have to pay for it. I didn't bother as was trip for pleasure and I could do without for a night but if travelling on business it may be an issue. Staff were friendly and exceedingly helpful both at the front desk and in the restaurant.

Decided to eat here in the evening and thought the food was good quality and well priced. Kids absolutely loved it as they did the help yourself breakfast. Cereals, yoghurts, fruit, toast and pastries and a fully selection of cooked items were available along with unlimited tea and/or Costa coffee. Only criticism was that the cooked items weren't kept as hot as they could have been been. But that aside it was a really superb start to the day ensured that we didn't need much during the day when we explored Cambridge.

It's a few miles out of town and roads are busy and city centre parking expensive (about £24 for the day) so it's worth either getting the bus in, or a taxi. As there were 4 of us we took a taxi right to the outside of Kings College and returned from the edge of the centre of town. The inward journey was £10 and return £8. We left the car in the hotel car park all day having checked with the front desk whether it was OK to do so.

To be fair the hotel itself was okish, but at £93 it was not cheap, the staff were good, the room was fine and clean with a bath. There is an on site restaurant which is better than a travel chef, but not somewhere to take your partner to. It can get noisy early in the mornings as early risers leave and you hear the clatter of the fire doors in the corridors closing after them.

So the reason for the one star. The WiFi didn't work, well after buffering for at least ten minutes I managed to get to see some emails, other than that it was totally useless. Talking to staff they acknowledged it had and was still a problem. To be blunt if I had known the wifi didn't work I would have stayed elsewhere.

Not much time for leaving a review so will simply say the property has always been clean and comfortable and the staff more than helpful. Stayed here several times on business. not centrally located so you can walk to the city, but taxis quick to order and still make it cheaper than comparable city centre hotels. No hesitation in recommending.
