Food was ok, just wanted to visit the place and not more. Staff at the bar looked like she did not want to help but shortcomings made up by the girl who served us.

The pub is just off the main road where King's College is, and is where Watson and Crick went for a pint while discovering the DNA structure. So for that alone, we had to go in. Once in, the pub was pretty cramped with tables squeezed in every corner, which spoilt the atmosphere a little. Food was average only. Portions on the larger side. The extra 1/2 star was for the atmosphere. Worth a visit, but would not return for the food alone.

Had a couple of drinks in the RAF bar, as well a lunch. A busy Sunday afternoon, but the staff kept things ticking over nicely.

Came across it by accident, but would recommend people to try it - as well the DNA beer!

Have eaten here twice during our stay in Cambridge, but one mainly goes to soak up the atmosphere. Lots of history here in this popular pub, chiefly as an RAF bar fromWWII, but also as the place where Watson & Crick formulated the characteristics of DNA over evening pints. Lots of memorabilia to admire. The Scotch Eggs are pretty good, too!
